We were happy to keep her out of the shelter system and give her safe place to go. Now, Zoey is ready to find her forever person. This beautiful girl is on a weight loss journey, but she loves her walks and is already trimming down. She also likes to play with squeaky toys. Watching her happily squeak them, tail wagging, has been such a joy! Zoey is house trained, crate trained, and super snuggly. She’s happiest cuddled up to her person on the couch and would make a great work-from-home buddy. Zoey has done well with other low-key dogs. She even did well with the cats she was introduced to!As comes with age, Zoey has some arthritis, but it hasn’t slowed her down much. This loving girl is looking for a retirement home with someone who will love her just as deeply as she loves them… could that be yours??All our pets are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.Interested in adopting? You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Layla is a shy, gentle dog who will need a patient family willing to earn her trust and work with her at her own pace. She would thrive with another small dog in the home and needs a securely fenced yard to explore safely. Layla is good with cats but is not recommended for a home with young children. With time, love, and consistency, she will blossom into a loyal and loving companion. Local surrender Southampton Pa Pa KL5254 Charlie is a neutered male 6 yr old Puggle (pug/beagle mix). He's about 30 lbs. He was recently surrendered through no fault of his own. He has lived with other dogs and children, but perhaps children over 10 years would be best. Charlie is still processing his new living arrangement and follows his foster around the house or lays on the sofa for pets and belly rubs. He's good walking on leash and doesn't bark at other dogs or people. His foster crates him while at work and he barks for a few minutes then settles down.
