Welcome Johnny to CCPAL Rescue. Johnny is a 7-month-old Pug mixed pup. He is a beautiful tan color with a black muzzle. He has an underbite and a shortened nose. He is a bigger-sized boy pup in the liter. He weighs about 15 pounds now and will be a small dog full grown. He has an adorable underbite and is great with other dogs. He is active but not over the top. He has the curly tail like the traditional pug but maybe the curl is less tight. He is a laid-back boy and was easy to take photos with. They all have curly tails and the round adorable heads. Johnny is one of two boys in the litter. He was the last puppy to come out of his kennel as he was enjoying his nap. He was very workable and stood still and sat willingly on the table for the photo shoot. They are all affectionate and cuddly. They are very playful with their siblings. Johnny is social and would be a great dog to take to the local coffee shop. He loves all people and is call in loud situations. They go on a wee pad but are not fully potty trained. They are good in a crate and are getting regular attention and love at the Rescue. We don’t have the privilege of adopting out many pugs. We are excited to find the pug pups their forever home. We would love pug people for these pups, as they know the breed most. They will be spayed and neutered and ready for their forever home soon. Someone that doesn’t work all day every day is the best candidate for a puppy. These pups would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older as these pups are small and very trusting of everyone. Johnny is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Meet Tobias! This handsome guy is the definition of a chill companion. He’s happiest hanging out with his people, enjoying some leisurely sniffing on a walk, exploring the yard, and then settling in for some well-earned couch time. He may be a little on the slow side, but he’s perfectly happy taking his time and enjoying the journey. Tobias loves his people and is always ready for some attention. Sit down on the couch and there’s a very good chance he’ll hop up beside you, ask for pets, and give you a gentle nudge—or even lift a paw—if you stop before he’s finished! Sometimes he’ll doze off right there next to you, and other times he’ll decide he’s had enough attention and relocate to the other end of the couch. He likes keeping tabs on his people without needing to be attached to them every second. He does have some fun bursts of goofy energy, especially later in the day. When the mood strikes, Tobias enjoys a few zoomies, exploring the yard, or carrying his favorite plush reindeer around while looking like he has absolutely no idea what to do with all those big feelings. He’ll even do a playful bow and parade his toy around. His tongue also has a habit of making an adorable little appearance, especially when he’s sleeping. Tobias is wonderful with people and has been happy to accept pets from everyone he’s met. He currently lives with two resident dogs and does best with calm canine companions who are content to sniff and coexist rather than constantly asking him to play. He would likely prefer a dog who respects his personal space rather than a young, high-energy pup in his face. He hasn’t met children in foster care, but respectful older kids may be a good fit. Tobias is doing well with his routine and is great on leash. He’s still working toward being completely trustworthy with free-roaming privileges, but he keeps his kennel clean and has made good progress with his house manners. He may need some time and a gradual transition before he’s ready to sleep loose or have full run of the house. Tobias does best when his people are around and can have some kennel anxiety, particularly overnight, so his adopter should be prepared to continue helping him build confidence with alone time. A consistent routine, exercise, and patience will go a long way. At heart, Tobias is a backyard-hangout-and-Netflix kind of guy. He’s affectionate without being clingy, playful without being overwhelming, and always up for some sniffs, pets, and quality time with his people. He’s also a certified LOAF who could use a little help on his weight-loss journey. If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing companion who would happily spend his days lounging beside you, Tobias may be your guy!

Cheeto is a 13, going on 14 year old Boxer/ Pug mix that was adopted when he was 1 year old. He's super cuddly and loves being by your side whenever possible. He does well with other dogs, no current or past problems with dogs or with cats, he currently has a brother and sister that are of the feline species and has been around kids of all ages his whole life. He enjoys walks but with his age, this is not something that needs to happen everyday. He is up to date on all of his shots and was neutered when he was a pup. He does have a few lumps and bumps but they have all been considered benign by his Vet. It is getting harder for him to get up and down stairs but he is still attempting to race up and down them every time. His perfect home would be with someone who is home most of the day and can let him outside when he needs. With his age, he is not able to hold his bladder as well but he is house trained since he was a pup. He is the perfect option for someone looking for a companion.

This big softie is incredibly affectionate — if you let him, he’ll gently kiss your face like it’s his life mission. He loves greeting his person with pure joy, sometimes so excited he forgets about going outside and instead insists on getting all his welcome-home pets first. Thanks to Embark, we did a DNA test to confirm her is 89% Shar Pei and 11% pug! He’s a happy, goofy boy who can match your energy perfectly. If you’re excited, he’s excited; if you’re calm, he’ll flop down and relax beside you — ideally in his chair, which he has very proudly claimed. He gets along great with cats and lets them do their thing, and he’s also made excellent progress with the other dogs in the home. He’ll even share gentle licks with them. Bernard listens well when treats are involved and knows how to sit, but recall is not his strong suit — especially around small critters. Given the chance, he will bolt, and the squirrels of the world definitely get a bark or two. He walks decently on leash but needs secure handling and careful door-watching. He’s still learning how to tell his person when he needs to go outside, so monitoring his water intake is important. While he has never pooped inside, he may pee if he drinks too much too quickly without a trip out. He also has a love for paper — any paper — and will happily snack on whatever he can reach, including toilet paper. Outdoors he enjoys eating grass and plants, so supervision is a must. Bernard enjoys soft toys and doesn’t destroy them. He loves chews too, but once they get narrow he’ll snap them and swallow the pieces, so those need supervision. You can absolutely be silly and playful with him — he thrives on that goofy connection. He may bark sometimes when left home alone, and while he’ll occasionally sleep with the rest of the household, he still gets a bit nervous around one of the other Shar-Pei. Even so, they’ve made great progress together. Bernard is a genuinely great dog — affectionate, silly, eager to bond, and full of personality. If his foster could keep another animal, he’d never be leaving. He’s more than ready to love someone wholeheartedly and make coming home the best part of your day.
