Story
Priska is a gentle soul looking for a patient family that will help her continue building confidence. While she may be a little unsure of the world at first, the people who take the time to earn her trust are rewarded with an incredibly sweet, loyal, and loving companion. When Priska first arrived in foster care, she was very fearful and hesitant of her new surroundings. With patience, kindness, and a predictable routine, she began to relax, and within just a few days she blossomed into a devoted friend. Once she knows you're safe, she's happiest lounging nearby, soaking up quiet companionship, and enjoying a peaceful day together. Priska can be uncertain around other dogs and hasn't had the opportunity to meet cats or children. Because of her sensitive nature, she would do best in a home where everyone can respect her boundaries and allow her to settle in at her own pace. She isn't looking for a chaotic lifestyle… She's looking for a family that understands that trust is something special and worth earning. She already has some basic training and is a wonderful candidate for someone seeking a low-energy companion. Priska would much rather spend time relaxing with her favorite people than keeping up with a busy schedule. If you're looking for a calm, gentle dog who will form a deep bond with the people she loves, Priska may be the perfect match. All she needs is a little patience, and she'll show you just how rewarding it is to earn the love of a truly special dog. Priska is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 7/25/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Visit our Foster to Adopt Program page to learn more. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.

Story
Location: Champlin, MN Say hi to Larry! Larry is a little timid of new people and experiences at first, but as soon as he realizes you're safe, or the toy is fun, or the bone is actually yummy he is ALL IN. It'll only take you a few hours to win Larry over and then get ready for so many kisses! Larry has medium energy, he enjoys being outside and sniffing all the world has to offer! He does like to run around and wrestle with other dogs for a little while and then he's ready for a good lap nap. Larry does well with other low and medium energy dogs, he likely wouldn't do well with a high energy dog sibling. I believe he would do well alone or in a home with another trained dog to show him the ropes. Larry is potty trained 95% - well, I'd say a 100% as he doesnt potty in the house but he does still mark at times, so he could use some training to help him stop marking new spaces. Larry is kennel/room trained but he'd love to sleep with someone even more. If kennelled he will whine for a few minutes and then settle down. When he hears you awake in the morning he will let you know! Larry will gladly steal other dogs food if given the opportunity so he gets fed alone ;) He is learning that chews, bones and treats are for enjoyment and can actually be pretty yummy! (Especially the soft beef ones or the chicken jerky strip chews.) He has been around older kids and does well, no experience to comment on about young kids or cats. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs over 9 months), FIV/FeLV test (cats - one in the litter), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hawthorne and his siblings, Linden, Laurel, and Myrtle, found themselves unwanted and in a high kill shelter in West Texas. They are good with other dogs and people, and cats are unknown.  All dogs and puppies require supervision and training to be successful.Hi, my name is Hawthorne! I just might be the happiest and most curious puppy of all time! I arrived in Minnesota from Texas on June 27th with my siblings. I am looking for a foster to adopt home, as I still have to be neutered (I will be before adoption). I am working on my potty training, kennel training, and leash training skills. I love toys and treats! I have several dog siblings in my foster home, and I am very dog friendly. I do not have experience with cats. I am in the process of learning what stairs are- for now, my foster mom carries me. But with time and watching my 4-legged foster siblings, I’m sure I will have it mastered in no time!  I love to run and play. My foster mom will update my bio as she learns more about me! First priority will go to someone who lives in the twin cities metro in order to bring to a vetting appointment.  Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 13, 2026, 9:50 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Meet Martha , our sweet 13 year old Shih Tzu Pug mix with the gentlest soul you could ever hope to meet. Though she is small and delicate, her heart is overflowing with quiet love. In her golden years, Martha moves through the world at a soft, unhurried pace, seeking out warm blankets, cozy corners, and long, peaceful naps in her favorite bed. Martha is a true cuddle expert. Her favorite place in the world is right beside you, snuggled close, sharing her calm, comforting presence. Whether she is resting her head in your lap or tucked into her blankets, she brings a sense of peace to everyone around her. She is currently in the early stages of kidney failure and needs a little extra care and gentleness, but what she gives back in return is immeasurable. Martha has a beautiful way of reminding you to slow down, to cherish quiet moments, and to find joy in simple companionship. More than just a pet, Martha is a soft, steady heartbeat in the home, a tender, loyal soul who fills every day with warmth and love. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
