You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hello there! I'm Puggles, an energetic and bouncy little Pug mix (possibly with some Jack Russell in my family tree!) weighing in at a perfect 18 pounds. As a young adult about 2 years old, I've got the perfect balance of playful energy and growing maturity. I'm an affectionate love bug who thrives on being the center of attention. My foster mom says I'm friendly, bouncy, and absolutely devoted to my humans. When it comes to snuggles and playtime, I'm all in! I have lots of puppy-like energy and enthusiasm that makes every day an adventure. I'm very food motivated (treats of all kinds make my tail wag at supersonic speeds), and I love to chew on tougher rubber toys. If it squeaks, even better! I'll play with it until I'm completely tuckered out. Speaking of playing, I get along wonderfully with dogs my size - my foster's resident female dog and I will wrestle and play until we both need a nap! I'm making great progress with my manners, though they're still a work in progress. I know several commands including "sit," "outside," and "go potty." I'm fully potty trained for outdoor business, though I might occasionally mark inside (I'm still learning that indoor marking isn't polite). I'm crate trained and sleep well in my cozy den. While I do walk on a leash, I must admit I get excited and tend to pull a bit - it's just that the world is so exciting! I would truly thrive in a home with a fenced yard where I can run and play safely. Speaking of safety, loud noises can make me a bit nervous, so a calm environment would help me feel secure. One thing to know about me is that I can be a chatty boy - I like to express my opinions and let you know when something exciting is happening! I haven't been tested with cats yet, so that's an unknown territory for me. I prefer the company of smaller dogs like myself, as larger dogs can intimidate me a little. I'd really love to be in a home with another friendly dog my size - having a playmate makes life so much more fun! I do get a bit jealous when my humans give attention to other dogs or people, but that's just because I love affection so much. I'm not sure how I feel about children under 12, as I haven't spent much time with them in my foster home. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will fill your days with laughter, love, and maybe a few squeaky toy concerts, I might just be your perfect match! Are you ready to meet your new best friend?   Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
Meet Roberto, aka Bob! Bob is a Pug mix born approx 4/3/2020. Bob is a sweet, easy-going snuggle bug who's looking for his forever home! This adorable little guy may be small, but his heart is huge. He loves nothing more than curling up on a lap for some quality cuddle time, making him the perfect companion for a cozy evening in. Whether you're working from home, cooking, or relaxing on the couch, Bob will be by your side, always ready to offer some gentle companionship. Bob is great on a leash, so he's fun to walk and explore with. He's also amazing with people of all ages, from kids to adults, and gets along just fine with dogs and cats—though he's mostly indifferent to them. Bob’s quiet nature means the only time he barks is when the resident dogs start to bark. He likes car rides, especially if he's on someone's lap.  Currently, Bob is working on potty training and crate training, but he's making progress each day! He’s a quick learner and is ready to find a family that will appreciate his sweet, gentle nature.  Not much is known about Bob's life before he came into rescue, but what we do know is this: he’s a survivor. Rescued from the streets of Mexico or Southern California, Bob came to us with dental issues and cataracts - but thanks to the wonderful care of our veterinarian, his mouth is now in tip-top shape, and his cataracts don’t slow him down one bit. Despite everything he’s been through, Bob is living his best life—exploring the world with curiosity, tail wags, and a spirit that refuses to quit. He’s a gentle, lovable companion who’s ready to find a forever home that will cherish him for the treasure he is...a true diamond in the 'ruff'. If you're looking for a loving companion to follow you around the house and keep you company, Bob might be the perfect fit! He’s got all the makings of an amazing furry friend—just waiting for the right person to give him a forever home.     Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $425.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 23, 2025, 7:29 am

Story
After several years as a hard-working mother of many doggy children in Indiana I moved to Minnesota a few weeks ago. I’m very excited to finally enjoy some me time. Since I’m now free to look for a serious long term relationship, would you like to meet up and see if we are compatible? My interests include short sedate walks, lots of quiet time with my favorite people (Ideally my match would be retired or work from home), cuddling my favorite person while watching television or reading a good book and curling up on fluffy beds. I would be happy to be your one and only, but I would also be ok with a cat friend and/or another small dog. Things I do not appreciate include stairs (but I’m learning fast, so that’s negotiable in any potential relationship) and playful/annoying dogs that are bigger than me. After raising so many puppies, I have now decided I want to pursue a quiet life of reflection and meditation with perhaps some traveling, as I like car rides. I’m pretty good at leash walking and where to go to the bathroom, but I haven’t completely mastered either one yet.

Story
I just moved to Minnesota a few weeks ago, and I’m ready to party! For the last several years I’ve worked hard as a single mom raising lots of puppies, but I’m pleased to say that I’ve left that life behind me. I can’t wait to get out and meet people and experience all that life has to offer to a happy empty nester. I’m looking for a committed human partner willing to enter a long term relationship and join me on many great adventures. My interests include short walks, meeting new people, playing with people, cuddle sessions and eating. I like playing with dogs my size and really hope my new partner has at least one little friend for me, but big dogs are really annoying. Cats are rather boring, but I’m happy to share a home with one. I’m told that I’m bossy with other dogs, but I prefer to thing of myself as confident and assertive. Learning to walk on a leash and use the outside restroom are both skills that I’m making great progress with. I dislike stairs, but I’m figuring those out, so that’s not a deal breaker for the right partner.
