Hi there, I am Aunt Cherry, a little Pug who has lived a whole lot of life, and I am ready to spend the rest of it being someone’s treasured friend. I might be a Pug, but I am a surprisingly quiet one. I do not have that classic pug snore, and I hardly ever bark. I am more of a soft-sighing, gentle-breathing kind of girl who just wants a cozy place to rest. Naps are basically my hobby. I adore curling up in my kennel for a good snooze, but my absolute favorite thing in the whole world is settling into a warm lap. I do this dramatic, juicy curl that makes people laugh, and once I am tucked in, I melt into every pet and cuddle you offer. Being held makes me feel safe, and I will rest my head on your chest like I have known you forever. I am the sweetest little thing, truly. I fit best in a low-energy home where the pace is calm and the days are soft. I do not mind cats at all, and I enjoy the company of other mellow dogs. In fact, I would probably love having at least one older dog friend around to keep me company. I came from Mexico, but not much is known about my past—just that I am ready for a warm, loving future. Speaking of warm… snow is not my favorite. I get cold very easily, so cozy sweaters and indoor snuggles are definitely my style. Hi there, I am Homero, and if you cannot already tell by my very dignified name, I am quite the character. I am about four years old, a tall pug with a not-so-smooshed face, which means I breathe easier than most of my squishy-nosed cousins. I like to think it gives me a distinguished look… and a pretty good snore. I am a lively fellow with a whole lot of energy, and sometimes that big excitement comes out in ways that are a little confusing to other dogs. I get along with them just fine, but every now and then I forget to regulate my enthusiasm. I promise I am not a mean guy—I just feel things with my whole heart and sometimes my whole body. Toys, playtime, and romping around with dog friends all make me incredibly happy, and I would love a family who enjoys my zest for life. Now, I do have one strong opinion: cats are extremely chase-able. I do not want to live with them, and I do not trust myself to resist the urge to zoom after those mysterious floofy creatures. I came all the way from Mexico, so English commands are still new to me. I am a smart boy, though, and I am learning every day. I was recently neutered, so I have had a bit of a marking issue, but other than that I am pretty much potty trained. With routine and a little patience, I will get the rest sorted out too. Oh—and my voice? It is big. Very big. I bark to say hello, to say “look at that,” and sometimes just to share my thoughts. The good news is I do settle down once I know everything is safe and everyone is listening. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Paul the pug came to us after he was found wandering in the area. We held him for the legal stray hold and no one came forward to claim him. He's around 4 years old. He looks chronically depressed but it's just part of his overall pug vibe. He has been fully vet checked and all looked great! We have had him neutered and he's ready to amble into a new home. His fee is $150. Paul is looking for a chill home with some pug or similar breed experience. We do think he'd do okay with another smaller dog and don't think he'd have an issue with cats. He should be fine with older kids. He can be a little reserved when he meets new people but he kind of greets everyone with a cool lack of enthusiasm. He perks up when he's out of his kennel and it's time to play a bit. He's well-mannered for the most part and keeps his kennel completely clean. NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. Inside, I’m a chill guy who loves scouting out the coziest nap spots. But the moment we head outside, my energy kicks in! Walks are my absolute favorite thing, and I come alive with excitement, ready to sniff, explore, and take in all the smells the world has to offer. I’m a bit reserved when meeting new people, preferring to quietly observe until I know I can trust you. But once I do, get ready — I turn into a loyal, lively companion who’s up for any adventure. Movie nights? Long drives? Snuggle sessions? Count me in!
