Story
Bruno is a loving, energetic, and affectionate Puggle who loves attention, especially from new people. He is playful, curious, food motivated, and loves being outside. He gets along well with dogs, cats, and children and enjoys being around people. He has a big personality and can be stubborn at times, especially when he is having fun outside. He can also gets excited and barks when someone comes to the door or passes by. Most importantly, Bruno is very bonded with Chase. They have spent their lives together, do extremely well together, and provide each other comfort and companionship. Bruno is crate trained, does well when left alone, and is happiest when he can be with his people or enjoying the outdoors. He is a goofy, affectionate dog with a lot of love to give, and we strongly hope Bruno and Chase can find a home together.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 13, 2026, 8:08 pm

Story
Likes to be near his people. He likes to be on laps if possible. We don’t let him on furniture. He does sleep with us at night in our bed but is crate trained when you leave. I tell him to kennel up and he goes to his kennel. Sometimes he argues with me before he goes in his kennel. He would love a home where he can be the only dog so he gets all the attention. He lives with a cat and doesn’t pay much attention to her. He does fine when other dogs come over and we have a lot of dogs in this family. He just wants to be loved and doesn’t require much work.

Story
Meet Tucker – The Bold, Happy Puppy Who's Always Ready to Play Tucker is the kind of puppy who wakes up ready for fun. He's affectionate, confident, energetic, social, and incredibly friendly. Tucker loves people, dogs, toys, water, and pretty much anything that gives him an opportunity to play. He's also got two features his foster finds particularly irresistible: Those teeth. And those ears. Although keeping the ears right-side-out is apparently a full-time job. Tucker Loves: -Running -Fetch -Tug toys -Playing with other dogs -Playing with toys -Chewing on bones -Cuddling -Water play -Being around people -Learning for treats -Delivering enthusiastic puppy kisses Tucker's Favorite Thing: Playing! Tucker wants to play with people. He wants to play with dogs. He wants to play with toys. He's an energetic young puppy who seems happiest when he has something fun to do and someone to do it with. His foster believes Tucker would especially enjoy having another playful dog in his forever home or potentially kids who can help keep him entertained. He hasn't actually been around children yet, though, so his compatibility with kids hasn't been tested. Friendly, Bold & Ready for Adventure Tucker is expected to be a higher-energy dog as he grows. He's confident, curious, and social, making him a promising companion for an active family that wants a dog to genuinely participate in their lifestyle. Hiking, parks, adventures, errands, and social outings could all be right up Tucker's alley as he grows and continues his training. Then there's water. Tucker loves water play, so don't be surprised if this guy turns out to be the family member who believes every warm day deserves a splash session. A Very Motivated Student Tucker's formal training is just getting started, but there's one thing working heavily in his favor: This boy loves food. He's currently working on "Sit" and "Here," and his strong food motivation should be a useful tool as his family continues teaching him new skills. His potty routine has also been introduced and is going well, and he's already crate trained. Leash manners still need practice, but Tucker is young and has plenty of time to learn. About Those Ears... Tucker's ears apparently have minds of their own. His foster says they're constantly turning themselves inside out, requiring regular assistance to get them flipped back into position. Whether Tucker notices or cares is another question entirely. He's far too busy playing. And if you get close enough to fix them? There's a pretty good chance you'll be attacked with puppy kisses. A Few Things to Know: -Still a young puppy -Likely to be high energy as he grows -Potty training routine has been introduced and he's doing well -Crate trained -Currently learning "Sit" and "Here" -Very food motivated -Toy motivated -Leash skills need practice -Loves other dogs -Would likely enjoy having a playful canine companion -Friendly and social with people -Excitable and may get jumpy -Loves attention -Loves water play -No major behavioral concerns noted -Still needs the structure, consistency, exercise, enrichment, and training appropriate for a young puppy Great Activities for Tucker: -Fetch -Tug games -Running and active play -Playing with dog friends -Water play -Hiking and adventures -Park visits -Training sessions -Food puzzles and enrichment -Social outings -Age-appropriate exercise -Playing with toys -Cuddling after he's finally tired himself out Best Match: -First-time dog owners prepared for an energetic puppy -Active or outdoorsy households -Families looking for a playful companion -Homes with another playful dog -Someone who enjoys training -Adopters who can provide plenty of physical and mental enrichment -A family looking for a social dog who can join their adventures -Someone who doesn't mind fixing inside-out ears several times a day Three Words That Describe Tucker Best: ❤️ Energetic ❤️ Friendly ❤️ Bold Foster Location: La Crosse, WI Meet & Greet Availability: Tucker's foster is happy to meet approved adopters within approximately 30 minutes of La Crosse, WI. Tucker came to rescue from a shelter in El Paso, Texas. We don't know the details of what happened before he arrived there, but Tucker seems pretty focused on what comes next. And preferably, what comes next involves playing. He's a confident, happy puppy who loves dogs, people, toys, water, and attention. He's already getting started on his household routine and training, and his strong food motivation gives his future family a great tool for continuing that work. Tucker has plenty of puppy energy, plenty of personality, some exceptionally uncooperative ears, and apparently an unlimited supply of kisses. His foster asks a pretty reasonable question: How could you resist those teeth or those ears? If you're looking for a bold, playful little adventure buddy who's ready to make himself part of the fun, Tucker may be your guy. Ready to meet Tucker? Story
Meet Skye – The Curious Little Sidekick Who's Ready for Anything Skye is the kind of dog who wants to know two things: Where are you going, and can she come too? She's affectionate, playful, curious, and adventurous, with a wonderful ability to adjust to whatever her people are doing. Want to head outside and play? Skye is ready. Going for a car ride? She's in. Planning a quiet afternoon on the couch? She'll happily settle right beside you. Her foster says Skye bonds quickly, trusts easily, and once you're her person, you can expect plenty of love and kisses. Skye Loves: -Walks -Car rides -Fetch -Tug -Sniffing and exploring -Playing with other dogs -Playing with toys -Chewing bones -Outdoor patios -Exploring new places -Spending time with her people -Food—and she's a very good eater! Skye's Favorite Thing: Whatever you're doing. Skye has a wonderfully adaptable personality. When she arrives somewhere new, she's curious and wants to check out every inch of the place. Once she's completed her inspection, she's happy to settle into whatever the day brings. If you're relaxing, she'll sit beside you. If you're ready to play, she'll be right there. If you're heading out for an adventure, don't forget Skye. She's the kind of dog who could become a true everyday companion rather than needing life to revolve around a rigid schedule of activities. Shy for a Minute, Best Friends Soon After Skye can be shy when she first meets someone, but she adjusts easily and forms connections quickly. Her foster says she trusts easily and will shower you with love and kisses. Once Skye decides you're safe, she doesn't seem interested in keeping things formal for very long. She's affectionate, people-oriented, and loves attention. Her confidence and curiosity help her adapt, while her playful side keeps things fun. Off to a Great Start Skye has been introduced to a consistent potty-training routine and is doing well. She is crate trained, and her leash skills are still a work in progress. Formal training is also underway, and her love of food should be a major advantage. Skye is extremely food motivated and a great eater, giving her future family an easy way to reward and reinforce the behaviors they want. No major behavioral concerns have been reported. Dogs, Cats & Kids Skye loves other dogs and enjoys having canine friends. She hasn't had enough experience with cats for her foster to say for certain how she'll do, but based on her temperament, they believe she would likely be fine with appropriate introductions. A Few Things to Know: -Medium energy -Potty-training routine has been introduced and is going well -Crate trained -Leash skills need continued practice -Formal training is in progress -Very food motivated -Good eater -Shy initially -Adjusts easily -Bonds quickly -Affectionate and people-oriented -Loves giving kisses -Curious and confident -Loves other dogs -Cats have not been fully evaluated but are expected to be manageable based on her temperament -No major behavioral concerns noted -Happy to be active or settle down with her people Great Activities for Skye: -Neighborhood walks -Hiking and adventures -Car rides -Fetch -Tug -Park visits -Sniffing adventures -Playing with dog friends -Outdoor patios -Exploring new places -Training sessions -Relaxing at home -Hanging out with her favorite person Best Match: -Active or outdoorsy households -Families -Homes with another friendly dog -Someone interested in continuing her training -A family looking for a dog who can enjoy both adventures and downtime -Someone who wants their dog included in everyday life -A person looking for an affectionate companion who bonds closely with her people Three Words That Describe Skye Best: ❤️ Adorable ❤️ Lovable ❤️ Curious Foster Location: La Crosse, WI Meet & Greet Availability: Skye's foster is not currently available to travel for meet-and-greets. Skye was pulled from a shelter in Mexico and given the opportunity to start her next chapter in Wisconsin. Now she's looking for someone to share it with. Skye doesn't seem particularly concerned about whether the day's plans involve an adventure or an afternoon at home. She's curious enough to explore, playful enough to join the fun, and affectionate enough to settle right beside you when it's time to relax. She'll investigate her new home, figure out how everything works, and then get down to the important business of becoming your best friend. Wherever life takes you, Skye would really like to come along. Ready to meet Skye? Visit www.tailsofhopewi.org to submit an application.
