Story
It must be PUG season! Introducing Pita Pita is a young (less than 1yo) dark brindle pug vs pug mix puppy. She is a whirlwind of energy: pawing & nose booping the other dogs in her foster mom’s house until there is a train of zooming dogs all with a happy Pita in the lead. When not engaged in play with her buddies, she plays with toys, does amazing feats of parkour to jump onto laps for petting & cuddles, or collapses for a well-earned puppy nap to recharge. She was well loved & well cared for by her original owner who surrendered her to God’s Dogs Rescue when terminal illness rendered her unable to safely care for the puppy. Pita is enthusiastic, very friendly, loving, like all pugs. She is not yet housebroken. She is learning to use a doggie door or to go on potty pads in the home. Given her short attention span and “all things = play” attitude, housebreaking will require patience & persistence. Pita will make a great addition to a household looking for a high energy, pint-sized pup with a huge heart. Lots of laughter, licks, snorts, & grunts will grace her forever home. Attributes: Good on a leash Good with humans of all ages/sizes Housebreaking: a work in progress Local adoption fee is $450(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $750 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Lily the Chug Are you looking for a small bundle of energy full of love, antics, & sass to liven up your home? Then look no farther than Lily the chug (3/4 pug, 1/4 chihuahua with a whole lotta chi attitude)! This long legged, grumpy faced little minx has adorable ears that either stand up at attention or rest crossed atop her head. Her overbite, often with her lip stuck on her teefers gives her adorable expressions. Lily has no enemies, loving to play-play-play with dogs & people of all ages & sizes. At her foster mom’s house, she cavorts with a 90# Great Pyrenees as much as she does with a pair of pugs. She’d also like to play with the cats, but she is too hyper for them & gets swatted. Lily does calm down to cuddle & actively seeks attention. Lily was a neglected outdoor pup until her surrender to God’s Dogs Rescue, so is still working on her housebreaking. She almost has it down pat with use of a doggy door. You will never experience a dull moment with this petite cutie in your life! Attributes: Housebreaking in progress. Good with doggie door HIGH energy Local adoption fee is $350(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $650 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Meet Navi! 🩷 Navi is an adorable 4-year-old, 13 lb. Pug mix with the cutest little personality—and she’s also a proud tripod. Don’t let her three legs fool you, though. She gets around just fine and has the sweetest little limp that only adds to her charm. When Navi first arrived at The Asher House, we were told she had been surrendered after reportedly biting a service worker in her previous home. We believe it’s important to share that history, but it’s equally important to share our own experience with her. Since coming to the sanctuary, Navi has been around our team of more than 75 staff members and has never shown any aggression toward anyone. She has never growled, attempted to bite, or given us any reason to believe she’s anything other than a shy little dog who needs time to feel safe. As she’s settled in, we’ve watched her confidence grow, her personality blossom, and her sweet, loving nature shine through. Navi isn’t looking for perfection—she’s looking for patience. She needs someone who will allow her to build trust at her own pace and give her the love and reassurance she’s been searching for. Once she feels safe, we believe she has everything it takes to become an incredibly loyal and loving companion. Navi enjoys playing with other dogs, but she can play a little too enthusiastically for some pups. Because of her rough-and-tumble play style, she would do best as the only dog in the home where she can soak up all of the love and attention. She also likes to chase cats, so she's looking for a cat-free home. While Navi has played well with many children in the past, we believe she'll thrive best in an adult-only home where she can focus all of her love and attention on her people and continue building her confidence. She has so much potential and so much love to give. Every day we get to know her a little better, and every day we’re reminded what a special little dog she is. If you’re willing to open your heart to a dog who simply needs someone to believe in her, Navi may be the perfect match. Apply to meet the three-legged Pug you never knew you needed—but who has been waiting for someone just like you. Navi's adoption fee is $295, and she is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Story
Meet the dynamic duo Count and Stellaluna!Count and Stellaluna are a bonded pair of Chug mixes looking for a home where they can stay together. These two have a special connection and rely on each other for comfort, companionship, and confidence.Count is estimated to be around 10 years old and is the sweet, easygoing gentleman of the pair. He loves being carried around, soaking up attention, and curling up for snuggles with his favorite people. His affectionate nature makes him an instant favorite with everyone he meets.Stellaluna estimated to be around 5 years old and is a sassy little lady with a big personality. While she can be wary of strangers and takes time to warm up to new people, Count helps her feel safe and secure when she's feeling uncertain. Because she can become frightened when unfamiliar people try to handle or manipulate her body, she may nip if she feels uncomfortable. She will thrive with patient adopters who understand that trust takes time and are willing to let her adjust at her own pace.Together, Count and Stellaluna make a wonderful pair. They enjoy cozy naps, spending time with their people, and providing each other with reassurance and companionship. Their bond is truly heartwarming, and they are happiest when they are together.Count and Stellaluna are searching for a calm, understanding home that will cherish them both and give them the love and security they deserve. If you're looking for a pair of devoted companions, these two may be the perfect addition to your family. If you are interested in meeting Stellaluna and The Count, the shelter is open Monday through Saturday, 11 am – 6 pm, Sunday 11 am-4 pm (Summer Hours).
