Story
Meet Reney, a 25-pound, 6-year-old Pug mix. This resilient girl has faced some challenges, but nothing can keep her spirit down. Reney was diagnosed with heart worms when she first arrived, but we successfully treated her with meds and love. We also treated her "cherry eyes," meaning that her protruding third eyelid glands were removed. She is a playful, medium-energy dog who loves to explore the outdoors and make new canine friends. She's looking for a forever home where she can share her love and bring endless smiles. Adopt Reney and let her fill your life with happiness! (ME, 8/1/24)**It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption fee: $395 covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip, and an Alabama State Health Certificate. Transport, if needed is $160. We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.October 9, 2024, 6:19 pm

We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.
