Learn more, see our list of dogs needing foster, and apply, https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster-a-city-dog.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained. We also update our Facebook page daily with new cats and dogs.

Story
Meet Daisy, our spunky, black 7 year old Pug that weighs 16 pounds and  boy is she a “character”.   Daisy enjoys playing with all the dogs and cats in the house. She is a very playful little girl. Daisy is a loving personality that is a great snuggler and adores being your queen as she sits next to you while you are watching TV or just relaxing. We recommend someone to apply for Daisy that enjoys going on walks several times a day even, because this girl just oozes excited when sees you near her leash. This black Pug nugget is fully potty trained and crate trained and even a good candidate for children who are over 10 years of age.  She is good with other pets such as dogs and cats and her foster mom says she has been a joy to have as a foster guest.   If you are interested in this girl we would like to mention that she has been through extensive vetting with Critter Cavalry Rescue.   She has been spayed, all shots and heartworm test done, microchipped, dental, bloodwork and a full exam with fecal and dewormings.  We have spared no expenses.  Please email us for an adoption form at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.February 29, 2024, 8:59 am

Story
Our beautiful magnificent Macy, is a 7 year old, fawn colored, 16 pound pure bred Pug. Her story is that she has been relinquished by a lady that can no longer care for all of her animals.  None of them were spayed or neutered which is dangerous. Macy was released to Critter Cavalry Rescue, and we will be spaying her,  doing blood work, with a full dental and scheduled the first week of March.  After that,  she will  be available for adoption the middle of March. We are accepting applications now. We are determined to get her coat of fur looking prettier and soft, so she is being fed top of the line food.  We have started worming and is  receiving great care by a Pug owner and experienced foster. This little girl is friendly with everyone, easy going and wonderful with all other dogs and cats.  If you have been looking for a fun little Pug,  please email us at Critter Cavalry Rescue  Ccrnewengland@gmail.com    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comFebruary 29, 2024, 8:59 am

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
This is Blanche, and she is every bit a Golden Girl is ever there was one. She’s a beautiful blonde Pug that is 7 years old and 16 pounds and nothing but sweet and sassy and sporting a permanent wink. Blanche  was surrendered by her previous owners when they could not afford to do surgery to remove her eye that was badly infected. It is an expensive surgery that she needed to have done.  This pure bred girl Pug is so very chill and calm, but still very playful and she makes her playfulness known with her soft squeak toys.  She gets along with other dogs but can get protective over her food and toys. Doesn’t happen all the time, just occasionally. Blanche is fully up, including her spay and all shots and heartworm negative.  She’s completely housetrained and walks great on a leash. Blanche is not a fan of cats and hasn’t hurt one, but will bark and bark when she has one in her sights.  To say she has a wonderful personality is an understatement. She loves being with her person or family of people and she is just absolutely precious.  Since her hair is just a tad longer than some pugs, we took her to the groomer who said she was perfect when she went in for her spa day.  Blanche would do best in a home without small children but more 12 years old and up.  Blanche’s foster works from home, so we would like for her forever home to also be with someone that is home most of the time.  If you are interested in Blanche hurry and contact us via email at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  She is ready to pack her bags and get on the road to a new life and home.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comFebruary 29, 2024, 8:59 am

Story
We are so happy to offer this precious little girl we call, Miss Milly,  to an individual or family out there who will appreciate this undeniably cute, sweet little 4 year old, 22 pound Pug/Beagle mix girl.  Now how can you go wrong with two of the cutest breed of dogs on the planet.  Breeds who have a welcoming personality and who love to cuddle and just be CUTE all day long.  Miss Milly escaped a not so nice lifestyle where she was taken from an Amish breeder who kept her in a crate where she produced litters of puppies to be sold as puppies.  It is a horrible life that holds no joy or love.  All she ever did was live inside that cage and take care of her puppies.  When she first came out of the puppy mill she was terrified of everything.   Now Miss Milly has come so far and is doing so well emotionally and socially !  She still has moments when she wants to hide, but it usually comes from being in a new and unfamiliar situation and that includes meeting new people. Miss Milly will definitely need an adopter that has lots of patience and a quiet household with no young children.   This darling girl gets along with other dogs, but if she were placed in a home without other dogs, she would be fine. Also, she is afraid of cats, so she just stays clear of them and prefers people to hang with.  Of course Miss Milly does well in a crate and is doing really well with perfecting her house training. She goes outside and she also uses puppy pads.  We suggest the early walks after her adoption to be done in quiet neighborhoods or perhaps some wood trails.   Miss Milly  is looking for a home to hang her leash by the door and to have the promise of unconditional patience and love.  Could that be your home and heart! She has been spayed and fully vaccinated and Heartworm tested and negative and even had a dental.  Write to us about this little girl at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   Critter Cavalry Rescue will be happy to send you an application and discuss this little girl even more!
