Story
Our Zanny is NOT for new pet owners or fosters. She is in desperate need of a family that has another high-level, massively energetic young dog already at home who needs a playmate. Having SO much energy to run around (currently, we use a 26’ retractable leash since she’s impossible to catch without one), she needs 4 small meals each day to help maintain her pleasantness. This is working most effectively for her.    She is very quiet with her house-training signals, so you will want to pay close attention to the cues she gives—such as circling and quiet whimpering. She has about an hour of hardcore playtime in the morning where she play-destroys (her favorite hard toys) until her breakfast kicks in & she’s able to calm down.   Zanny does well being kenneled and is accustomed to sleeping in her kennel at night. Her daily vigorousness means that all clothes and shoes, etc. need to be picked up, so that she’s not tempted to drag them around while you’re fighting with her to get them back. Along with the clothes diversion, Zanny is an ankle-biter. No seriously, she’s an ankle-biter. Her foster mom wears tall heavy slicker rain boots when she takes her outside. Fortunately, she is biting less and less when she is distracted with treats for ‘sitting’.    Zanny is a Puggle, which is a breed that needs attention to how much she exercises. She will overplay and overexert herself every single time, and you need to be mindful of that. To help her overcome that intense emotion & the wind being knocked out of her when she reaches the end of the retractable leash…her foster mom has taught her how to come when she calls her name! This one distraction will prevent Zanny from reaching the end too quickly and will instead turn it into a game. Even though this is a new trick, she has 100% perfected it, & it has made ALL of the difference in her quality of play and her demeanor.    Zanny is at her very best when she has finished napping after lunch, when she gives an abundance of kisses and is able to receive quality scratches. She DOES have a limit of how many scratches, but you can get many in before she reminds you :)   Zanny MUST have a house that does NOT have young children or seniors living in it. She will be too much for them. She is perfectly perfect when all of these obstacles have been met, but beyond challenging if you’re not able to meet all of her needs.   Our hope is that Zanny will appreciate and be the very best of friends with your dog, and they will become bonded and she will forever have a place of her own.   Adoption fee: $525, includes all shots, sterilized, heartworm negative, dewormed, flea preventative, microchip   If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application and a representative will get back to you shortly to answer any questions you may have. Lily's Story PLEASE NOTE- AN APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG IS REQUIRED prior to any meet and greet. Calling, emailing or "inquiring" is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog. Meet Lily, a sweet loving dog with a sad story, she came out of a home that was split up due to domestic violence and had no place to go. Lily is a gentle dog who will be timid when you first meet her, she warms up pretty quickly and turns into an amazing girl who follows her foster around everywhere. She is about 30 pounds, about 3 years old, housebroken, gentle with dogs and has also lived with cats. Looking for a quiet home where she can gain confidence and become the incredible companion she was meant to be. Breed is a guess, looks like a mini boxer, probably pug with something else. The adoption fee is $450, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including age appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea/tick preventative, heartworm test if age appropriate and spay/neuter. All of our dogs will be microchipped. Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. APPLY AT ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG (click on the word "Adopt" at top of page to find the dropdown menu with application) We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging. Currently check, cash or venmo is preferred payment

Story
Bentley has been with me since he was a puppy. I got him at Just Puppies of towson durning my 10 grade year of high school. Since then he has been around other dogs (small, friendly) and cats with no problems. He also LOVES children!! He has become more needy in his older days and requires me to pick him up going up and down stairs (i live in an apartment on the 3rd floor) and more walks (bathroom breaks) throughout the day or he will go in his house which is a challenge with my busy schedule now. I feel at this point he would be more comfortable with an older person who has a great deal of free time and lives in a house.

Story
Gremmy found herself at a high kill shelter where she was scared to death and just shaked in her run. We got a phone call to see if we could help her get out of there. Of course we went and got her. Gremmy looks to be part Boston Terrier and Shih Tzu. She has the body of the Boston and the coat of a Shih Tzu. She would be best suited in a home without another dog as she is not a fan. She has been fine with the foster mums cats, will want to chase if they run but has never hurt them. When we first got her she was a bit scared going out on a leash, now she is fine. If you have any other questions feel free to reach out to us. If you are interested in this pretty girl please email us at Doginghamrescue@aol.com so we can send you an application. We are based in the Nashville, TN area and have most of our dogs transported up north. The $600 includes the adoption and transport fee (will have a health certificate too). The transport fee is not refundable if things do not work out.

Story
Meet Otis – The Gentleman with the Biggest Heart  At 2 ½ years old and 27 pounds, Otis is the perfect little package of love. This Boston Terrier mix (with maybe a dash of Min Pin magic!) is as charming as they come. Sadly, Otis lost his beloved human, and his tender heart has been looking for someone new to love ever since.  Otis is the definition of a loyal friend—he adores people and is wonderful with other dogs. With his playful spirit and affectionate personality, he’ll happily bring joy to any home. The only thing he asks is a cat-free environment, since our feline friends aren’t his cup of tea. Healthy, neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative, Otis is ready to start fresh. He’s not just looking for a home—he’s looking for his person, the one who will give him the love and stability he deserves.  If you’re searching for a best friend who will stick by your side through thick and thin, Otis is your boy. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 &#226&#156&#168 Could Otis be the missing piece of your heart?   Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 28, 2025, 8:49 am

📌 Important Adoption Information All of our dogs are currently living in private shelters or foster homes in South Korea. Once an adoption is approved, dogs will travel to the United States through legal and approved international transport procedures. Video calls are available prior to adoption, and adopters can communicate with our rescue team in real time through our official organization and app-based messaging channels throughout the process. • Rescue Story: Meet Moana👋🏻 She was found wandering the streets of Paju, South Korea in 2022. She ended up at a high-kill shelter but was thankfully rescued just in time. Since then, she’s been living in a private shelter with many other dogs, charming everyone with her affectionate personality. Now, she’s ready to find a forever family of her own! • Personality: Affectionate, Friendly, Goofy Moana is truly one of a kind. She quickly won the hearts of volunteers with her gentle, loving nature. She follows people around like a little shadow, happily greeting everyone—even strangers—with tail wags and affection. Moana thrives on human interaction and loves tug-of-war, belly rubs, and being the center of attention. Her energy level is moderate, making her a great balance of playful and calm. • Affinity with - Dogs: Moana is incredibly social—not just with people, but with dogs, too. She’s often the first to welcome new arrivals at the shelter, helping them feel safe and at ease. While she would thrive as the only dog in the home, Moana also does best with calm dog companions. - Cats: Not tested with cats - Adults/Kids: Great with adults / She hasn’t been tested with cats or kids, but based on her gentle demeanor, we believe she’d do well with respectful children. • Walking Manners: Moana has also started practicing her leash skills and is doing great! She may pull a little at times, but overall, she walks well and is eager to please. • Housetrained: As she’s lived in a shelter, Moana will need some house-training in a home setting. • Bathing/Brushing: She’s tolerant of baths and grooming. • Car Sickness: She’s curious and alert during car rides, taking in the world around her. • Separation Anxiety: Zero. • Barks/Howls: Very quiet • Appetite/Food Allergies: Eats well. No food allergies found so far. • Shedding level (1~10): 5 • Likes/Dislikes: She loves affection & treats! • Health: Moana finished her heartworm treatment in Oct 2024 and is in great health. She underwent successful surgery for an inguinal hernia in Mar 2025 and has fully recovered. She has a clean bill of health and is ready for her new adventure! (Her two front bottom teeth are missing) 💙 Adoption Fee Information The adoption fee already includes all major expenses, such as: International transportation, Customs and export documentation, Medical care (spay surgery, vaccinations, health certificate, deworming, etc.) For this reason, we kindly ask that you refrain from requesting a breakdown or negotiation of the adoption fee. Your support directly helps us continue rescuing and caring for dogs in need, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding.
