She is house trained and plays well with other dogs and of course, her humans! At just 11, she still has plenty of pep in her step! She is inquisitive, snuggly and exudes love! RPACI is a non profit rescue, and currently possess our 501C3 to operate as such. Please visit us on Facebook: Rebecca's Paws and Claws Rescue and Sanctuary and our website: www.rpacirescue.org. All dogs/ cats from this rescue are transported from Alabama to the Pennsylvania/ New England/ Virginia area and delivered in Pennsylvania, Virginia and RI. Each pet will come fully vetted. Price also includes transportation and a Health Certificate as required by law. There is a 100.00 deposit required at the time of adoption to secure the transport crate. The remainder of the fee will be paid once you pick up your pet. Naturally the 100.00 comes off the total owed at pick up. It will be refunded if for any reason you decide you do not want to adopt, unless the transport has already left.with the pet. Meet Rex! Five-year-old Chihuahua mix Rex is a little guy who is still trying to figure out this whole new world around him. Rex came to us through a seizure case and sadly, he wasn't living in the best conditions. He arrived with three other dogs, and while he seems to be dog friendly, he is very nervous and unsure of new people and new experiences. A dog test will be required with any current dogs in the home. Rex may need a couple of meet-and-greets before he feels comfortable enough to show you who he really is. He is unsure about affection right now, and that's okay. He needs someone who understands that trust takes time and will allow him plenty of decompression time without asking too much of him too quickly. We're looking for a patient adopter who will give Rex the opportunity to learn what it means to simply be a dog — to explore, play, relax, receive some lovins, and discover that the world isn't as scary as he once thought. We are unsure how Rex feels about children, so the whole family will need to come to the meet-and-greet. We are also unsure about cats, and super slow, patient introductions would be best. Rex is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. Rex doesn't need someone who expects him to come out of his shell immediately. He needs someone willing to sit beside that shell and patiently wait for him to realize he's safe. Once he does, we hope he'll discover just how wonderful life can be. Interested in adopting? Pip is the Energizer Bunny in a dog's body! Under this cute, scrunchy face is a smart, active, Alpha dog. He loves other dogs and playing fetch. He is a quick learner-knows "sit" and "shake", working on "stay" and "lie down", great eye contact and focus to learn, his love of treats and toys helps a lot! He is fantastic in the car, so if you are looking for a dog for adventure-running, hiking, travel, this is the guy for you. He's not a big snuggler or couch potato, he's active 95% of the time. The ideal home for him would be one with a fenced yard, great with kids but older kids would be best due to his need for activity and high energy playfulness. Dog friends would be great, he definitely needs a very active environment, cats would not be a great fit for him. Housebroken and crate trained.
