Story
Meet Ace: One Part Quirky, One Part Cuddly, All Original 🐶✨ Ace is a one-of-a-kind blend of Puggle papa and Blue Heeler mama, which explains his handsome, head-turning look—he’s got the “wait, what kind of dog is that?” factor nailed. Spoiler: He’s 100% Good Boy™. Ace was raised from just four days old by a loving owner who sadly had to surrender him after moving to a no-dogs-allowed apartment. It was a heartbreaking goodbye. Ace even beat parvo as a pup with the help of Tufts and sheer determination, so yeah—this scrappy little guy is a fighter with a soft side. In his early life, Ace didn’t get out much, so he was a bit under-socialized at first. But these days? He’s thriving. He’s figured out that affection is actually awesome. Pats no longer confuse him, and he now leans into scratches and loves cozying up on the couch like a seasoned snuggle pro. Zoomies have officially been downgraded from “nervous laps” to “playful laps.” Here’s what else Ace brings to the table: • 🎾 Fetch master: This boy lives to chase and return. • 🧡 Loyal shadow: Follows his people around like he’s training for the Velcro Olympics. • 👁️ Soulful stare: His eyes say, “I love you…and also, do you have snacks?” • 🐾 Trail-ready: Loves leash walks (pulls with gusto) and greets humans like a charmer at both Petco and on hiking trails. • 🛋️ Couch companion: Nothing beats flopping down beside his person for some quality chill time. • 🚽 Housebreaking hero-in-training: More housebroken than we originally thought! (Go, Ace!) He’s great with other dogs, but as far as cats go: Ace recently had a bit of a "chase first, ask questions later" moment with the resident cat in his foster home. He barked, growled, and took off after the cat with a little too much enthusiasm. It was a pretty intense reaction, so we think Ace would do best in a cat-free home. That said, he might be a bit much for small children—he’s powerful and playful and doesn’t quite realize he’s not lapdog-sized. A home with older kids or adults, especially ones who love outdoor adventures like hiking and exploring where he can burn some energy, would be his ideal vibe. Adopt Ace – he’s sweet, silly, unique, and totally ready for his next chapter. Come meet the most charming work-in-progress you'll ever fall in love with. 🐾💙 If you are interested in finding out more about Ace, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Ace is in Millbury, MA. The adoption fee is $450. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
