Independent. Bossy. Completely adorable. If that sounds like your dream dog, keep reading, because Noella might just be the girl for you.
At just 8 pounds, Noella (12 years old) is proof that good things come in small packages. But don't be fooled by her small stature; this girl's got a big personality and she's not afraid to use it! She knows what she likes (and doesn't), and isn't shy about letting you know.
When Noella first arrived, she was too timid to be touched, let alone held. But with time and patience, she’s really started to come out of her shell. A major part of her transformation came after she had 19 teeth removed due to painful dental disease and underwent surgery to remove a (benign) mammary tumor. These days, she’s feeling much better, and it shows.
While she’s grown more confident in our care, Noella is still cautious around new people and will scurry away if she feels overwhelmed. But for those willing to go slow and respect her boundaries, she’ll show her softer side. With the handful of volunteers she’s bonded with, she enjoys being held and loved on, and will even give us a kiss from time to time.
Noella can be a bit particular about her canine friends, so a home with calmer dogs who respect her space would be ideal.
And her favorite thing to do is eat! She’s always first in line at mealtime and has been known to sneak a second helping when the other pups aren’t looking. She’s steadily gaining weight and looks happier and healthier by the day.
Noella is a special girl looking for a special someone to bring her home. Give her the time and space she needs, and you’ll earn the trust and love of this tiny, doe-eyed princess.
Noella is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and recently had blood work.
