Meet Lovebug!Lovebug was named Lovebug for a reason. If this girl could climb into your skin and live there, she would. If she could merge her soul with yours, she would. If she could occupy the exact same space as you at all times, she would. This is not a velcro dog - this is a superglue dog. This is a DELO MONOPOX HT2860 dog.(That's the world's strongest recorded adhesive, in case you didn't know. I did not know.)She would do best with a family where there is always someone home or with someone who works from home because the unholy Jurassic Park, Stranger Things subtitles, "exorcism definitely required but not included" noises that come out of this dog when she's left alone are...interesting.Think "baby dinosaur somehow drowning on dry land" or "demogorgon has a lot of feelings so they joined a death metal band".Lovebug is about 4y6mo and she's a 25lb French bulldog. If you saw our fundraiser for her, you'll know that she couldn't walk when she came to us due to IVDD. Her back legs were useless and she had to drag herself around using her front legs like a very sad reverse tadpole. After a hospital stay with Chase Farm, some pain relief, and acupuncture - she's mobile! Her vet thinks she'll make a full recovery, which is AMAZING! But, of course, there's always the chance that this could happen again so some lifestyle modifications will be required to give her the best chance and not having this happen to her ever again.Limiting stairs, having ramps to get on/off furniture, and keeping her weight down are some of the main requirements.Lovebug does well with other dogs but we're hoping to place her as either the only dog or with another special needs/older/low-energy dog. The worry is that she'll see a zoomy dog having the time of their life and want to join in and hurt herself all over again.
