Dolce and Bear came to us from a Texas shelter after years of neglect that finally caught up with them. Their former owner was repeatedly required by the shelter to groom Bear. He was left outside all day, became severely matted, and was significantly overweight. Dolce, meanwhile, was known for constantly escaping the yard. Not because she was “bad,” but because she was anxious and trying to cope. When they were surrendered, they arrived with fleas and signs of flea dermatitis. Bear was immediately groomed, started on salmon-based food, and his skin has already improved noticeably. His weight is coming down, and he looks like a completely different dog than when he arrived. What hasn’t changed is their bond. Dolce becomes extremely anxious if she is separated from Bear. He is her anchor. He is her safety. These two have clearly relied on each other to survive an environment that did not meet their needs. They are not puppies. They are not blank slates. They are adults who deserve stability, consistency, and a home that understands that love is not optional care. It is the bare minimum. We will only consider them together. That is non-negotiable. Dolce and Bear are safe now. They are healing. And for the first time, they are being properly cared for. If you are looking for a bonded pair and understand what it means to commit to two dogs who have already been through enough, this pair might be for you. This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.) We're just going to rebrand to Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs at this point because we just...keep getting sentient meatballs.This is Winifred.Winifred has one speed and it's "nyoom". If you're looking for the stereotypical bulldog that waddles around like an elderly gentleman exploring his garden after a good rainfall, Winifred...is not that.Winifred is a military tank that runs on espresso and rainbows.She crashes THROUGH snow banks, runs laps on ice, and drifts around corners on her belly like she's playing every single role of an action film. (Fast and Furious 47: The Snortening) Winifred is both the unstoppable force AND the immovable object. To be entirely fair, Winifred is significantly smaller than a military tank. She's only, like, 40lbs and she's full grown at about a year and a half old. She's in good health aside from your usual bulldog problems (allergies, yeasty ears) and on top of being an absolute chaos conductor that will keep you entertained (and active...and on your toes), she has a personality the equivalent of sunshine after a hurricane.10/10 dog right here. Like, hello, she's amazing, do we really have to keep going?...okay, fine, she could use some leash training because she sort of just zips and zooms all over the place but once she gets that initial sonic boom of energy out, she's much better. She also does know some cues and has no problem showing off. She likes attention, loves being a little social butterfly, and is a super sweetheart right off the bat. We haven't officially tested her with other dogs yet but have seen no red flags thus far. She should be fine with cats as long as they aren't going to pee in your shoes for bringing home a literal bull in a China shop.
