Story
Hello world, my name is Wally. I am the cutest fellow you have ever met. I am a red/fawn with black trim Beagle mix. At first glance you would think I am an old man because of the white on my mouth. But, this is not true. My age is around 2- 3 years old. My teeth are beautiful. I am prematurely turning gray. While I was being neutered, the vet saw a bump on top of my head. The bump was healed with no sign of what could possibly be in it. So when the vet opened the bump, a pellet came out. She and her staff were discussed with finding the pellet, and sorrowful with the thought of what he has been through. The pellet is a small clue into my past. My foster family spotted me crossing a deserted country road carrying something in my mouth running to an open field. They say at first I looked like I was heading someplace carrying a prize. But once I realized they had stopped, car door open and wanted me to get in, that's all it took. I dropped what I was carrying and ran to them. What hasn't been mentioned is where they found me, there is not any homes for a few miles in either direction. My chances of just being lost are non- existing; I was dumped. I am so happy, when I see people or other animals, I sing my beautiful Beagle song. I am ready for my furever family and have adventures. I love car rides, snuggling, and playing. I have never been hike or camping, but, I know I would love it. My foster mom noticed how I like splashing in the water bowls. There is a world of fun waiting. Please request an application from alittlelonger2home@gmail.com to begin the adoption process. Once you receive the application, please fill out completely including your three references email addresses. Your references cannot be related to you. Story
Meet our sweet girl 💛 She’s a gentle soul who has clearly been through more than she should have. While she is incredibly sweet, she is still very fearful and can become overwhelmed with touch, sometimes vocalizing when she’s unsure or scared. Because of this, she will need a patient and understanding home that is willing to go at her pace. The good news? She wants to trust again. You can see it in her eyes every day. She loves treats, enjoys the company of other dogs, and is slowly starting to come out of her shell with the people she feels safe around. She is very much a work in progress, and will need someone committed to continuing her journey—building trust, respecting her boundaries, and celebrating the small wins along the way. With time, patience, and love, we truly believe she has the potential to blossom into an incredible companion.

Story
Please contact Mark (btfoha@gmail.com) for more information about this pet. Adoption Donation $199    Located: New England Age: approx. 10 years old Weight: 40 lbs.   Louie, also known as Dre, was picked up as a stray in a local city, and no one came looking for him, which really is surprising because he is such a sweet guy with a beautiful temperament and coat and appears to have been well cared for and loved. He loves being outside, going for walks, playing fetch, squeaky toys and going for rides in the car. He is very much a lapdog and would love someone to be around more than not. He does have some old man lumps and bumps that the vets says are fatty tumors and not of concern. One is larger than the others but does not cause him any discomfort. Louie could stand to lose a few pounds and would benefit from regular exercise and a healthy diet. He is happy to be out of the shelter and in a foster home but would really love a family of his own again. This guy is a younger 10 year old that still has pep in his step and plenty of life left to live and love to give. He is doing great with the 5 year old boy in his foster home.    If you are interested in adopting Louie/Dre please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  btfoha@gmail.com  Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc.
