Story
Meet Dior, the beautiful and unique girl who’s ready to start fresh in a loving home. Dior walks well on a leash, keeps her crate clean, and even knows how to use a doggie door, so we’re confident she’s well on her way to being fully potty trained. While shelter paperwork listed her as around three years old, her foster thinks she may be closer to one and a half. Dior has a playful, spirited side but is easily redirected and is usually quite calm and well-mannered. With her unique looks and lovable personality, Dior is ready to bring joy to a family who’ll give her the stability and love she deserves. Dior gets along with other dogs and is interested in but not aggressive with the cats in her foster home.
Dior and her sibling were found abandoned in a motel with the most heartbreaking note from their former owner. It was found that one of the dogs had an old shelter ID and was originally named Dior, called Nina by her most recent owner. Her sibling needed medical attention and sadly is now in hospice care with her Texas foster family.

Hi,
I’m sorry for leaving my dogs. But I am homeless and cannot take care of them. They receive love but I cannot feed them. I cannot house them. I’m trying to be responsible.
They struggle and travel with me, and they just deserve better.
I know whoever finds this may not have control over what happens to them.
But to the best of your ability, will you make sure they’re alright?
Nina (Dior) is in her kennel. She really likes food. She is playful. She’s very sweet.
This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.
I think this will haunt me forever.
But I am out of money for rooms and out of options.
I am sorry to the cleaning person who finds this room. I did not mean to put this on you.
But I had no idea what else to do for them. Or me.
I don’t know if you’ll read this far and I’m sure this isn’t an original concept.
But if anyone can, please help them.
Nina (Dior) is extremely smart and would be easy to train. I just don’t have the ability to do so. She’s crazy and goofy. She loves cuddles. She thinks she is twice her size and is very nosey.

The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them the All American MUTT. Our dogs are rescued from various situations (kill-shelters, owner surrenders, strays, etc). It is most likely that both their parents were strays and mixes of some sort.
If you are interested in this dog, you MUST submit an application. Sandy Paws Rescue does not a have a public shelter in Mass, so there is no building you can visit without an appointment. Our dogs live in private foster homes or boarding kennels down south until adopted, and foster care homes through out MV, Cape Cod and other parts of MA. A majority of our dogs are adopted/spoken for prior to transport and release from state mandated isolation.
