Hi! I’m Oak, and I’m a tiny guy with a big personality that I’m just starting to show.
The world is still a little scary to me, and sudden movements or movement in general makes me nervous. I’m not quite ready for pets yet, but I’m getting there! I’m becoming more curious about my surroundings every day, and my silly side is starting to come out.
I recently discovered toys and love them. I secretly play with them when my foster mom isn’t watching because apparently I’m too cool to be caught having fun. 😂 I also follow her everywhere. I clearly want to be close to her, I’m just still working up the courage to let her love me and touch me.
I think I’d really like to be a cuddle bug someday. I just need someone patient enough to let me get there on my own time.
I’m working on potty training and doing pretty well with pee pads. I’m also learning that being picked up doesn’t mean something bad is happening. Even when I’m scared and don’t want to be grabbed for things like baths or vet visits, I’ve never growled, snapped, or bitten.
I do get anxious when left alone and may cry in my crate, but when my person is nearby I am quiet as a mouse.
I’m also an escape artist with some serious jumping skills. Air Bud Jr., if you will. 😂
I do well with cats, but I’d do best in a calm home without young kids. Most importantly, I need someone who understands that trust takes time.
I’ve made huge progress in just one week, and I’m excited to see who I become when I finally realize I’m safe. I may need a little patience, but I promise there’s a very sweet, silly little dog hiding in here.

The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org).
Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs over 9 months), FIV/FeLV test (cats - one in the litter), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration).
Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
