Story
Duke Jackson is an 8 year old Boston Terrier that weighs about 21lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and on heart worm prevention. Duke is all Boston! He’s an active Boston who loves walks, toys, his crate, mealtime, and so much more!  Duke is an early riser, so it’s the perfect time to take him for an AM walk before it gets too hot, but like a true Boston, he loves to sunbathe too. Duke does great on a leash on walks or casual strolls. He is crate trained and house trained. He LOVES his toys and like to play play play, but he is learning “all done” means it’s time to rest. He currently takes Prozac to help him settle into his new routine, but we believe this could be weened off as he adjusts to life in his new furever home and a stable environment.  Duke would thrive in a home where he was the only dog. Because of his energy level, we recommend a home without children. He has some mildly elevated liver and kidney labs, so we recommend checking those at least once a year to make sure they are staying consistent.  Duke is spunky, funny, cute, and of course a little stubborn - all of the ingredients of a great Boston terrier companion! If you would like to give Duke his forever home, please submit an application at southerncrossbtr.com. The adoption fee is $250. He is being fostered in Nashville, TN. Approved adopters must be willing to travel to where the dog is being fostered in order to adopt them.  For a complete listing of all of our available Bostons, or to learn more about SCBTR, please visit our website at www.southerncrossbtr.com. Story
Kiah is an 8 year old Boston Terrier that weighs about 24lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and on heart worm prevention. Meet Kiah — the perfect mix of cozy couch companion and outdoor adventure buddy. Kiah is a healthy, happy girl who loves the simple things in life: sunshine, belly rubs, car rides, and curling up in bed with her favorite human at the end of the day. She’s house trained and also uses a pee pad overnight like a pro. Kiah gets along with other dogs when given slow, proper introductions. While she’ll play a little with dog friends, she’s mostly a laid-back lounge queen who enjoys relaxing near her people. She absolutely loves being outside, whether it’s soaking up fresh air or going for a ride to anywhere with her human. If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing companion who will happily be your shadow, cuddle buddy, and road trip partner, Kiah may just be your perfect match. If you would like to give Kiah her forever home, please submit an application at southerncrossbtr.com. The adoption fee is $250. She is being fostered in Corinth, MS. Story
Ruby is a 3 year old Boston Terrier that weighs about 12lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and on heart worm prevention. Ruby is a tripod(born with 3 legs) Boston Terrier who is very smart, learns fast, and is one the sweetest bostons I have ever came in contact with. She is easy going and loves to be by your side for everything.  She is currently housed with 6 other bostons with no issues. She loves to play chase with her fur siblings and also loves balls, ropes, and toys. She is very flexible; As long as she has her human by her side, she is happy.  She does prefer male humans as her past owner was a male but is kind to female humans as well. She would be best in a household that has an adult human with her most of the time...either a stay at adopter, or retired couple or person would be best for her.  Because of her tripod birth defect, she has some incontinence and requires frequent diaper changes to keep her dry.  She goes out to urinate in the yard about every 1.5 hours during the day, but wears a diaper at night. Even though she urinates outside during the day, she does still dribble urine from time to time. She has about 2 stools per day. Making sure she stays clean and dry is importsnt to ensure she doesnt get skin breakdown. She walks on her lower 3rd of her back leg so walking strictly on soft surfaces outside is a must, like in a yard. We do not allow her to walk on pavement, as this will cause her to develop sores. Currently we are giving her a daily Claritin allergy pill as she gets a runny nose and sneezes with the TN grass. We also are giving a daily doggy cranberry supplement to help with the risk of UTI, which is more common in dogs with some incontinence. Ruby has gone to dog friendly restaurants and was kind to the kids she met there and sits in her doggy bed and waits for snacks.  She loves car rides and will go right to sleep on them.  She loves snuggling in bed with the other dogs and humans. She doesn't mind bathing as long as you have the water warm for her. Ruby eats twice a day, one in the morning and once early afternoon. Ruby prefers not be crated, so a home where she could free roam while her humans are home would be ideal.  If you would like to give Ruby her forever home, please submit an application at southerncrossbtr.com. The adoption fee is $375. She is being fostered in Hendersonville, TN. Approved adopters must be willing to travel to where the dog is being fostered in order to adopt them.  For a complete listing of all of our available Bostons, or to learn more about SCBTR, please visit our website at www.southerncrossbtr.com.
