Story
Meet Tiffani, the most perfect little Puggle Potato we’ve ever met. Tiffani was surrendered to a local shelter after her family was no longer able to care for her. Since settling into her foster home, she has been a perfect angel. Good with dogs, kids, and everything under the sun. She loves lounging on the couch while her humans are in her vicinity. She’s crate/house trained, and is barely noticeable because she’s just such a good girl! Tiffani’s cherry eyes are being repaired 4/12, then she will be ready for her very own forever home. In typical Pug (mix) fashion, she has some skin sensitivities that may require upkeep: ear cleanings, allergy medications during peakallergy seasons, etc Tiffani all in all is a great girl who will have no trouble acclimating to virtually any home. T is spayed, will have her cherry eyes repaired, is vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm tested. She will come with 6m oral heartworm prevention, and 30 days of pet insurance for her family.

These pups are in Williamsburg, Virginia too!

Story
Elsa was found with two other beagles, Melissa and Lemmie, and brought to a rural shelter. None of them were claimed so we took in all three cute little girls. Elsa is another very sweet beagle who likes people. She will come when you call her since she loves to be loved on and petted. We haven't had her long so she is still revealing her personality. She is working on housebreaking and will readily go outside when you let her out. We don't think she has much experience on a leash since she tends to be all over the place, although she seems to enjoy the walks. Her energy level has been fairly low so far and she is a bit timid, but it could be her getting used to her new life as a pet. She seems to be a little unsure and fearful of cars/trucks on walks. We think she will be a good companion once she settles into her new pet life. She is currently being fostered with Lemmie, and although we are not requiring they be adopted together, they do LOVE each other and so we do think Elsa should have another dog in the home. Elsa is vaccinated, micro-chipped, spayed and she is HW positive. We have started her on the medication. For an application go to www.homesfurhounds.org. She is located in Williamsburg, Va.

Story
Lemmie is a very sweet girl who loves to be loved and petted. She comes if you squat/bend down and call her, and will sit with you to be fawned over. She has the softest fur you have ever petted. In her original foster home she was anxious and did some pacing and we realized she really needed another dog in the home. Once we moved her and now she is with another dog, who we also think is her mother, she no longer seems anxious. So Lemmie will need a home with a playmate. She is only one year old. She was going into her crate to sit alone when she didn't have another dog with her. Now she usually follows Elsa, and sits/lays/sleeps with her. They sleep through the night. She has been pretty good about going out to potty, and will go to the door when she needs to go out. She is starting to get interested in toys. She isn't very food motivated. She does eat her meals and will take a treat but isn't food crazy. The foster dad did manage to walk her around the cul-de-sac although she did not do well on the leash. She didn't walk with him and kept wanting to go towards the woods. She will need some work on leash walking. Although she hasn't tried to dig under the fence, she did dig a good sized hole under a shed pretty quickly, so we think she is still an escape digger hazard. So even though she will need a fenced yard, it needs to be one that is secure at the bottom where she can't dig out. She is spayed, micro-chipped and vaccinated. She is HW positive so we have started her on medication. If you are interested in meeting Lemmie, our application can be found at www.homesfurhounds.org. She is located in Williamsburg, Va.

Story
Some of you will remember Trooper. He has a very sad story. Both of his owners died, but no one knew he was in the house so it was three weeks before he was rescued. Even though 28 horses on the property were found dead, Trooper had survived. When we picked him up from the shelter, we could see he was having a hard time walking. But even though he was probably in pain, he never stopped wagging his tail. Trooper is a very sweet little boy. We did bring him in to our vet for testing and he does have arthritis in both knees and spondylosis in his back. We have him on Gabapentin and Glucosamine. He also received an injection for the arthritis. He is getting around a little bit better now that he is on medication, and even tries to run a little (especially when he hears his dog bowl being filled). He is 8-9 years old and will require the medication for his arthritis for the rest of his life. Trooper will go out and sniff around in the yard, picking up scents of little critters just like most beagles, but he doesn't really need leash walks. He can walk short distances at a very slow pace, but will not require and long walks. He mostly likes to hang out on his dog bed next to his person. He will follow his foster parents around the house and then just get comfortable in whatever room they are in. We would love Trooper to find his forever home. After what he has been through, he needs a house where someone is home a lot. He does OK in the house alone and does not have anxiety, but since he loves to have people around, it seems only fair that he go to a home where he won't be alone a lot. He gets along fine with the other dogs in his foster home. If you think you could make a great home for this sweet boy, our application can be found at www.homesfurhounds.org.
