Story
Zoey is an incredibly sweet and loving 5-7 year-old female beagle. She came to us in pretty rough shape, but once we got her cleaned up and feeling better, her beauty—inside and out—could really shine! Zoey is housebroken and does well in her crate at bedtime. She came to us very skinny and is still working on putting on some much-needed weight. Thankfully, that shouldn’t be too difficult because this girl loves her food and treats! She does great in the car and happily settles into her car bed for the ride. She is still learning how to walk nicely on a leash, but her exercise is currently limited while she undergoes treatment for heartworms. Zoey absolutely loves her people and will happily give you plenty of face kisses when she gets excited. She coexists well with the other beagle in her foster home, although the two don’t interact much and are mostly content to do their own thing. One thing to know about Zoey is that she doesn’t like being left alone. If she doesn’t know where her people are, she may cry or bark until she finds them. She would love a home where she can feel safe, secure, and close to her people. Zoey is a sweet girl who has already come so far, and we can’t wait to see her continue to blossom into the happy, healthy beagle she was meant to be! Story
Dansby is a beautiful beagle girl who is looking for a home. She is a 4 year old hunting beagle we took in with her sister Elsa. As you can see in the pictures, she is quickly falling in love with being an inside family pet. She even snuggles on the couch with her poodle foster sister. Dansby is very sweet and a bit shy at first. She is adjusting well to being a pet and has done really well with housebreaking. She is also discovering toys and likes to carry her toys around and take them to her bed. Dansby is not as food motivated as most beagles and will sometimes not even eat all her food. She is a slow eater and has no food aggression. She is friendly and playful with people and with the other foster dogs in the home. She was a little nervous at the vet's office but did fine. The longer she is here the more we see her wonderful, fun personality. Dansby does sometimes bark at other dogs when she is out walking on a leash. She will need some training with this issue. She is vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed. She was heartworm negative when she arrived and has been on heartworm prevention but has now tested positive. Heartworms don't always show up in tests for 6 months so she was positive when she arrived and we did not know it. We have started her on the medication. At least we know she hasn't had them long.
