Story
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the adoption of this cat through our Owner Placement Program. We take no responsibility for the health and medical records of this cat. It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this.
Kai is NOT in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home, but residing with my current owner in Fair Oaks. Adoption fee applies.
Kai is a rare and striking white Ragdoll, reminiscent of the elegant Aristocratic Cat from classic Disney films. True white Ragdolls are uncommon, making him especially unique. His coat is a pristine, snow-white, soft as a baby rabbit fur, easy to maintain, and naturally resistant to matting. It always looks clean, healthy, and beautiful, adding to his angelic charm. With his dreamy light blue eyes, we named him Kaito (Kai for short), inspired by the Japanese word for “ocean” for his blue eyes. He shares a deep bond with his half-brother, Fuji. They are inseparable companions.
Kai was born deaf, but that hasn’t slowed him down. He is independent, highly curious, and delightfully mischievous. He loves exploring and has a knack for figuring things out, whether it is turning on faucets for a drink, pawing the iRobot vacuum until it starts so he can ride it, or opening cabinets to nap, hunt for treats, or occasionally knock things over. Once he masters something, he will repeat it daily. He tends to focus on turning on the faucet and opening specific cabinets, so some kitty-proofing will be necessary. He may also learn to open sliding or front doors if they are not securely closed. Fuji often acts as Kai’s guide and comfort. They are beyond a bonded pair! If Kai wakes up and feels alone, he may cry out until Fuji comes to reassure him, and the two will groom each other endlessly.
Because he is deaf, Kai must be kept strictly indoors. If he slips outside, he may wander off without awareness of danger, making supervision essential. He does wear a collar with a “deaf cat” tag and an Apple AirTag for safety.
Kai is incredibly affectionate and relaxed. He is a true “floppy” Ragdoll who enjoys being carried and draped over your arms.
He enjoys high perches and quiet resting spots, though he may occasionally need help navigating down—adding intermediate steps can help. He is also a curious observer and may perch above the shower to watch you shower, sometimes even dozing off up there.
Kai responds to simple visual cues. If you gently wave your finger “no,” he seems to understand and will squint his eyes in acknowledgment. He co-exists well with other pets but tends to ignore dogs and female cats, preferring the company of male cats, especially his half-brother, Fuji. Kai is very affectionate and is good with kids. Although he only sees kids occasionally, he is curious about little people and enjoys the attention and does not mind being handled by them. Kai and Fuji are so laid-back that they will let anyone, including new kids, carry them both together in your arms, and they will simply melt into one another like a cozy bundle of fur.
They have excellent litter box habits and keep themselves impeccably clean. They are not picky with food and enjoy a mix of raw chicken diet, kibble, and canned food. Since Kai can’t hear feeding cues, you may need to gently wake him for scheduled meals
Kai is not particularly toy-driven but is fascinated by moving lights like laser pointers. He is a special, intelligent, and loving cat who will thrive in a safe, attentive home with his beloved brother Fuji by his side.
Kai is: Neutered/Spayed, Vaccinated, Microchipped, Wet Food, Dry Food, Litter Box Perfect

If you believe you are a perfect adopter for Kai please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Pamela at cheemers@gmail.com or (707) 498-6578. If you are unable to reach Pamela please email info@purebredsplus.org.
NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone's best interests!
