Story
Gizmo (GG) is a five-year-old cat with a sweet and sensitive soul. While she was adopted without noted health concerns, I have observed that she may have a disability, such as partial blindness, which makes her fearful of sudden movements, loud noises, and new environments. Despite her anxiety, GG is incredibly gentle. Once she feels safe, she enjoys bird watching, exploring the house, and cuddling at the foot of the bed. She is even comfortable being bathed and dried, which demonstrates her deep capacity for trust. Currently, she prefers to stay in the bedroom during the day, typically only venturing out at night when the house is quiet. She is litter box trained, and I currently keep her box in my room to accommodate her comfort level. I believe GG would thrive in a quiet, low-stimulation home with a single owner or someone who works from home. She would likely do best in an environment without other pets or young children, where she can receive the patience and calm energy she needs

Story
About Thor & Loki Meet Thor and Loki, a stunning, deeply bonded pair of four-year-old male Ragdoll-mix brothers! Raised together in a loving home since they were tiny kittens, these two are the quintessential "puppy-cats"—highly social, affectionate, and happiest when they are hanging out with their people. While they don't have official pedigree papers, they have all the classic Ragdoll magic: plush soft coats, striking good looks, and gentle, dog-like temperaments. They love greeting you at the door, following you from room to room, and keeping you company wherever you are. Quick Highlights Age: 4 years old (past the chaotic kitten phase, fully settled and well-behaved). Personality: Extremely friendly, social, affectionate, and people-oriented. Relationship: Deeply bonded pair (must be adopted together). House Manners: Neutered, litter-box trained, and cleanly housed indoors.

Contact Lori at Whisker2love@gmail.com to Meet Lucy.  Please note that applications are not processed on a first-come, first-served basis. We will be reviewing the applications to find the best match. She would be best in a house that has lots of trees and wildlife to watch.  Meet Lucy:She is the total package: gorgeous, affectionate, hilarious, and just a little bit dramatic. She is about 2 years old.  Her favorite hobby is bird watching from a safely screened window, where she takes her role as Neighborhood Wildlife Supervisor very seriously. When she’s not keeping tabs on local birds, she’s likely following her favorite humans from room to room because, in Lucy's opinion, life is simply better together. Lucy loves to brushed and pet. She is also a wonderful lap cat.  Lucy is incredibly people-oriented and loves being near her humans. Her signature move is the Welcome Home Belly Flop™. Leave the room and come back? Belly flop. Come home from work? Belly flop. Walk by and say hello? Another belly flop. It’s her adorable way of showing how happy she is to see you. She gets the occasional case of the zoomies, loves sleeping near her people, and is always happy to accept attention. Lucy does have one important request: she’d like to be your one and only cat. Other cats make her uncomfortable, and she’ll be happiest in a home without feline roommates.  If you’re looking for a beautiful cat with a big personality, a loving heart, and a knack for making you feel like the most important person in the world, Lucy is ready to meet you.Click here to watch a video of Lucy.August 17, 2026, 2:18 am

Story
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA:  Hi, I’m Oscar, a friendly young Ragdoll-mix male!  I enjoy human attention and like everyone I meet.  I love to sleep on my foster mom’s bed at night.  She describes me as “a playful, floppy sort of fellow, outgoing and goofy!” My pal Sterling and I are a bonded pair, and we need to be adopted together.  We've never been around dogs or children, but we get along great with other cats. I was born in approximately February 2024, have been fixed and am up to date on my shots. Please note: Oscar has chronically runny eyes as well as cherry eye, but these conditions do not seem to bother Oscar and his veterinarian has ruled out any infection. This is a Courtesy Post, and Oscar is in a private foster home in Pleasant Hill, California.  For more information, please contact Suzanne at suzannejo16@gmail.com. Please Note: This cat has not yet been tested for FIV/FeLV, to our knowledge. Potential adopters should confirm the cat’s status with the rescuer and should consult with their veterinarian for recommendations regarding testing.March 15, 2026, 5:56 pm

Story
Kitten was abandoned in a court in Concord. We were able to get the kitten in a carrier as the neighbor noted that there was something wrong with the tail. She was spayed and her tail evaluated. No treatment needed for the tail at this time. Further exam with x-rays revealed mega colon. Very sweet cat but will need medicine for the near future to evaluate if her colon will begin to contract normally. She is on a laxative and cisapride to help with colon motility. She is extremely sweet and gentle. She is shy when she doesn't know people but warms quickly. Would need a home that is capable of monitoring her poop and to administer medication.   Update: Doing great. Loves people. Tolerates other cats but prefers human interaction. Loves to be held. Not on any medicine or special treatmentAugust 6, 2026, 6:04 pm

Story
Dublin and Berkeley MUST be adopted together. There are NO exceptions. Adoption Fee: $300 for the pair Berkeley and Dublin are a stunning bonded pair of boys with a story that tugs at the heart. Dumped in a field and left to fend for themselves, these beautiful souls have only grown closer through their tough beginnings—and now they're looking for a calm, loving home to finally call their own. Bashful at first, Berkeley and Dublin are gentle and affectionate once they've had a little time to settle in. They thrive in a peaceful environment and will reward your patience with soft purrs, tender companionship, and the kind of love that only comes from animals who truly appreciate their second chance. These two are inseparable—wrestling buddies by day and snuggle partners by night. Whether they're chasing string toys, batting around balls, or blissed out on catnip, their playful energy is balanced perfectly with moments of quiet contentment. They're not the chattiest cats on the block, but offer them a few treats and you'll be treated to a sweet little back-and-forth that's uniquely theirs. If you're looking for a pair of bonded best friends who will bring both joy and serenity into your life, Berkeley and Dublin are ready to fill your home—and your heart—with love. Dublin is neutered, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect. He currently lives with his foster family in Sacramento. Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home. If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Dublin (and Berkeley) please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Dayna at meandmyfosters@outlook.com If you are unable to reach Dayna please email us at info@purebredsplus.org. NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone's best interests!
