Story
When Zelda came to the rescue, we had trapped her and 6 other kittens at the solar farm in Spotsylvania. Zelda is a beautiful cat who enjoys petting. She requires good grooming as her long fur tends to get matted. Zelda would thrive in an environment where she could get more individualized attention than we can give her at the rescue. Zelda gets along well with the other cats in the room. She's a relatively quiet and laid back cat. We feel that her personality would come out more if she was the center of attention as she deserves to be!! Contact AdvoCats at 540-419-5335 to schedule a Meet & Greet!

Story
Lena is an 8 year old Ragdoll/Munchkin mix in need of a calm and loving home. She is a very sweet girl who would love to sit in your lap or enjoy a good snuggle. She is a bit shy at first, but warms up to new people within a few hours and soon asks for pets. She is a goofy girl who will often bring you a toy and alert you with a soft meow. She has short legs, so she is a bit clumsy at times.Lena is made very nervous by babies/small children and dogs, thus would do best in a home without them.

Story
Meet Lena!Lena is a gentle, shy, and loving cat who is looking for a calmer home where she can feel safe and supported. She has lived happily with her family for years, but since the arrival of their baby—now an active toddler—Lena has become increasingly stressed and has begun urinating outside the litter box. Her family has tried many interventions, but it’s clear that Lena is deeply uncomfortable around young children and needs a quieter environment to thrive.Lena is the kind of cat who hides when she feels overwhelmed, but once she warms up to a new adult, she blossoms into the sweetest companion. Her family describes her as a lap-loving, belly-rub-seeking girl who just needs a little time and patience to reveal her affectionate side. She has never been aggressive, even when stressed—she simply chooses to retreat. Lena also gets along wonderfully with the other cat in the home and may enjoy having a calm feline friend in her new environment.Because fast movements and unpredictable noise make her uneasy, Lena will do best in a home without young children (12 and under). In a peaceful setting with adults or older teens, she has every potential to return to her confident, cuddly self. If you’re looking for a sensitive, sweet-natured cat who just wants a safe lap and a quiet corner of the world, Lena may be the perfect match for you.Be sure to check the `shelter information` box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Michael R. Frey Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours! Both of our locations are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12-5 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 12-7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information on our adoption process, including requirements and fees, visit https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/animalservices/adopt

Story
Cotton is a gentle lady who loves to nap. Our vet has estimated Cotton to be about 6 years old. She has great hobbies--she loves to nap, get petted, and eat a snack. Cotton absolutely loves people and enjoys chit-chatting with you. If you ask about her day, she'll happily update you with little mews. She’s a great buddy to have around: she’s started sleeping on the foot of her foster's bed and has made a lovely bedmate. Her fosters also report that Cotton has been getting more playful, enjoying the wand toy and some pom poms! Since coming into our care, Cotton has been fully vetted. You'll notice a bit of a tilt to one of her eyes. Our vet's assessment is that it's due to an old injury. It does not seem to cause her any pain, and she has no vision issues. She has also had a dental procedure to clean up her teeth and have several removed - but she bounced back quickly and seems to be much happier without them! Cotton is ready to make your home her home! Put in an adoption application today for this sweet cotton ball.
