Story
Meet Alexander!  Alexander is a sweet rescue who's still settling in and showing us his personality. Once he trusts you, he's incredibly loyal and will happily follow you from room to room. He's an easy housemate who does well home alone during the workday, sleeps through the night, knows "sit," loves treats (especially baked chicken!), and enjoys playing fetch—though he's still working on the "drop it" part. He's also been a great sport about his medicated baths. Alexander is still building confidence and can be reactive to unfamiliar people, especially men, as well as other dogs. Thunder and loud noises can also make him nervous. Because of this, we think he may do best as the only pet in a calm, female-only home with someone who will give him the time and patience he needs to feel safe. If you're looking for a devoted companion who will reward your kindness with endless loyalty, Alexander might be your perfect match.  ##2799159##

Story
Hi! I’m Nissan! I’m a 2-year-old, 10-pound Rat Terrier, and yes, I’m named after a car! I may be small, but just like a Nissan, I’m dependable, ready to go places with my favorite people, and happiest when I know I’m in good hands. I’m a sweet little guy with plenty of personality who loves my people, backyard playtime, and cozy evenings at home. Favorite Things: Nissan loves playing in his fenced backyard with his foster brother, getting attention from his people, and taking long naps. He is an excellent TV-watching buddy who enjoys curling up nearby or joining you on the couch for cuddles. Don't forget to have a selection of toys for him to choose from! Training & Manners: Nissan is eager to learn and responds extremely well to positive-reinforcement training. He knows “touch” and is working on “up” and “down,” and he is comfortable and happy in his designated napping area, especially when given a frozen Kong toy. He is currently on a strict potty schedule of every couple of hours and will need a family that can consistently stick to that routine. Health & Care: Nissan is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. Like any dog, he will need to remain on regular heartworm and flea prevention. Other Animals: Nissan loves playing with other dogs, and another playful dog could be a wonderful companion for him, although not required. He has not been tested with cats. Children: Nissan should do well with older, respectful children who understand that he may need some time to warm up. He does best when allowed to approach new people and situations at his own pace. Ideal Home: Nissan would thrive in a single-family home with a securely fenced yard, as he is currently nervous about leash walks away from home and is most confident in his backyard. He will also need a family that is home more often than not, as continued training, consistency, and patient encouragement will be important in helping him build confidence. His ideal family will be patient, calm, and committed to helping him learn at his own pace. Overall: Nissan is a wonderful little homebody who can be cautious about new situations, but he makes great progress when given time, patience, and encouragement. Once he trusts you, he is affectionate, playful, eager to connect, and ready to be your loyal little sidekick Think Nissan might be the one for you? If so, visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org; if it seems like a good match, his foster family will be in touch. Story
Hi, I’m Subaru, a 2yearold Rat Terrier weighing 13 pounds. Like the car brand, I’m always ready for an adventure, especially if it involves squirrel patrol, a toy or two, and quality time with my favorite people. Beneath my goofy personality is a sweet, affectionate guy who enjoys both activity and downtime. I may be small, but I make every day a little more entertaining. Favorite Things: Subaru has two great loves in life: squirrels and toys. He takes squirrel patrol very seriously and is always ready to keep an eye on any furry visitors. When he’s indoors, you’ll often find him entertaining himself with a favorite toy. Training and Manners: Subaru already has a solid foundation of good manners. He walks nicely on a leash, does well when taken out regularly, and can be left alone for several hours in a secure area without issue. He can be tempted to make a quick dash through an open door, so continued guidance in this area will be important. Health and Care: Subaru is a healthy boy! He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. He will need monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives like any dog. His grooming needs are simple, regular baths and nail trims will help him feel his best.. Other Animals: Subaru has experience with small dogs and particularly enjoys companions who appreciate his playful style. He hasn't been tested with cats, but we suspect he may be more hesitant than bold during introductions. Slow, positive introductions would give him the best opportunity for success. Children: Subaru would do best with children (6+) who respect his space while he settles in will help him feel safe and confident. He can be unsure in new situations and sometimes plays with an open mouth when he's excited, but he does not nip. Ideal Home: Subaru would thrive with those who appreciate that he takes a little time to warm up to new people. Visitors, loud voices, and sudden movements can startle him at first, but patience and a few tasty treats go a long way toward earning his trust. He can adapt well to an apartment, townhome, condo, or house and would enjoy a predictable environment where he feels secure. Overall: Subaru is a charming mix of affection, humor, and personality. He forms strong bonds with the people he loves and brings plenty of smiles along the way. Like the Subaru he shares his name with, he's dependable, versatile, and happiest when traveling through life with his favorite person. If Subaru sounds like the perfect fit, visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to submit an adoption application. If it seems like a good match, his foster family will reach out. His adoption donation is $525. ##2821512##

Story
***Local adoption only: Ford needs to be adopted by a family in the Central Florida region (Orlando area) who will commit to taking him to his follow-up vetting appointments for remaining vaccines, microchip and neuter with PPR's vetting partner. These appointments will be scheduled through PPR, and the cost is included in his adoption donation. Hi, I'm Ford, an almost 3monthold Rat Terrier blend weighing 3.4 pounds. Unlike the Ford you might find in a driveway, I run on puppy energy instead of gasoline. I'm a cheerful little guy who is ready to grow, learn, and keep my future family smiling. Favorite Things: Ford’s favorite pastime is collecting toys and finding new ways to enjoy them. Whether he's carrying one around proudly or entertaining himself with his latest discovery, he always finds a way to stay busy. When the fun is over, you'll often find him curled up in a cozy dog bed for a well-deserved nap. Training and Manners: Like any young puppy, Ford is still learning the basics. He isn't house trained yet and will need consistency as he develops good habits. Leash walking is also brand new to him, but he's at the perfect age to start building confidence. With patience and routine, he should progress beautifully. Health and Care: Ford is up to date on his puppy vaccines. He will need a local adopter committed to bringing him to his remaining vaccine appointments, microchip and neuter, which are covered by his adoption fee. He'll need monthly flea and heartworm preventatives like any dog. Ford is currently finishing treatment for a skin infection that is nearly resolved and may continue a medicated foam for a short time. His grooming needs are simple and include regular baths and nail trims. Other Animals: Ford has experience with small dogs and enjoys having canine friends around. He hasn't been tested with cats, but his easygoing nature suggests he may adapt well with proper introductions. Children: Ford would be happy in a home with children of any age. As with all puppies, supervised interactions will help everyone learn and grow together successfully. Ideal Home: Ford would thrive with adopters who can provide plenty of engagement throughout the day. He enjoys being included in family life and would especially appreciate a home where someone is around more often than not. His petite size makes him adaptable to apartments, townhomes, condos, or single-family homes. Overall: Ford is a cheerful little puppy with a confident outlook and a heart full of potential. He combines personality, curiosity, and sweetness in one tiny package. Like the vehicle he shares his name with, Ford is reliable at putting smiles on faces and is ready to take his family on a lifetime of memorable adventures.  If Ford sounds like the perfect passenger for your life's adventures, visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to apply. If it's a good match, his foster family will reach out. His adoption donation is $575. ##2821600##

Story
Hi! I'm Caraxes! I'm a 10-year-old Rat Terrier that weighs 13 lbs. My name may sound a bit more combat-ready than I am, but don't let the name fool you—I'm much more interested in snacks, snuggles, and living my best cozy life! After all, every good dragon rider needs a loyal companion, right? Favorite Things: This little guy is a FOODIE! If you've got yummy snacks, Caraxes will be your new best friend! He's not much of a toy guy, but he's always happy to curl up with his favorite human for some quality snuggle time. His love language? Treats and companionship! Training & Manners: Caraxes is a quiet gentleman with wonderful manners who enjoys napping in his bed and sharing his space with other dogs. He's still gaining confidence with leash walking and working on his housetraining. His foster mom keeps him on a consistent routine, but he may still have accidents, so his adopter should be prepared to continue working with him patiently and consistently. Health and Care: Caraxes is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. He will need monthly heartworm and flea prevention like any other Florida pup. Other Animals: Other dogs are a-okay with Caraxes! He's patient and easygoing, even with pups who aren't quite as well-mannered as he is. He hasn't been introduced to cats, so any feline introductions would need to be slow, careful, and supervised. Children: Caraxes has not interacted with children. Because he is shy and reserved, we believe older children who understand how to be gentle, respectful, and patient would be the best fit. Ideal Home: Caraxes needs a patient and understanding family willing to give him time to build confidence. New situations can be scary for this sensitive little guy, and even going outside can sometimes make him nervous. A securely fenced yard is imperative since he isn't comfortable walking on a leash yet, and his adopter should be committed to helping him continue building confidence and mastering his housetraining. Overall: Caraxes is a sweet, quiet, affectionate little guy looking for a safe place to land. He may be shy at first, but underneath his cautious exterior is a gentle companion who loves snacks, cozy beds, and being near his people. He'll need someone willing to give him time, patience, and plenty of reassurance, but watching him blossom could be incredibly rewarding. He may not be the fearsome dragon his name suggests, but with the right person by his side, Caraxes is ready to discover just how wonderful life can be! If you think Caraxes may be the one, please visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org and submit an adoption application. If it looks like a good fit, his foster family will reach out with more information. Caraxes' adoption donation is $300. ##2821513##

I may share my name with a car brand, but I’m powered by puppy energy, not horsepower. I’m a cheerful little guy who loves discovering new things and making the most of every day.
