Skye is a family dog who has been in our lives for 11 years. She is great with other dogs and house trained. My husband recently had a stroke and due to his health needs I am unable to take care of her the way I used to.

Story
Best friend Buddy is the total package. He loves people and greets everyone, always eager for attention.   At 12, Buddy ended up in a rural Tennessee shelter. We do not know his backstory or why such a sweet boy would land in a shelter. We may never know.     At Critter Cavalry, we adore seniors and believe they deserve every chance to find a loving home. You won’t regret considering Buddy—he loves everyone, whether human or animal. Buddy is everyone’s best friend.     Buddy is healthy for a senior. He has limited sight and hearing, but is otherwise in good shape. He navigates his foster home easily and enjoys exploring the fenced yard. He comes when called—just use a louder voice.   Buddy is ready to retire with a couple eager to add him to their family. He’d love a fenced yard to explore—size isn’t important—and an active retirement with short walks and car rides. He will be a wonderful addition to a family that matches his lifestyle.   If you want a new best friend, Buddy is perfect for you. To learn more about adopting him, contact Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com or 615-943-7311. Approved application and adoption fee required.    August 17, 2026, 10:00 pm

Story
Bolt My name is Bolt named after Usain Bolt. You guessed it I am fast just like the Olympic sprinter. It is amazing I am so fast because I have an injured pelvis. Because of this injury I have had nerve damage and lost feeling in my back end. This means I cannot pee and poop like a normal dog. My foster family and vet are working with me to see if there is some things we can try. Currently we are trying out some medications to see if we can get me to have control of my functions. We are not sure if they will work but we want to try. I am such a cute boy and very loving. I get along with the other dogs in the home. I think I am in charge of the much bigger dogs because my whole six pounds are filled with determination. I am still a puppy but have gotten over a lot of puppy behavior like chewing and biting. I weigh almost 7 lbs and need to put more weight on. I am crate trained. Currently I wear a diaper most of the time. I do not love it but put up with it to make everyone happy. I am very smart and want to do the right things when asked. I love humans, my crate and soft beds. In my foster home the other dogs think I am to fast to play with but I try to play with them. Maybe they will come around. I am looking for a home where someone will love me for me. No one know how I got injured but it was not my fault. I deserve to be loved and have a loving family like all other dogs. If you have room in your heart and lap and couch please give me a chance. I will pay you back with lots of love. If interested in giving me a forever home, please complete an application at safeanimalhaven.org.November 5, 2024, 12:12 am

Story
Hi, I'm **Sofia**! I'm a 7-month-old Jack Russell Terrier and Pointer mix with a heart full of love and a playful spirit. I'm still a puppy, so I have lots of energy and curiosity. I love exploring, playing with toys, and making new friends wherever I go. I'm a smart girl who's eager to learn, and with a little patience and positive encouragement, I'll grow into an amazing lifelong companion. After a fun day of adventures, I'm happiest curled up beside my favorite people, soaking up all the love and belly rubs I can get. If you're looking for a sweet, fun-loving pup who's ready to fill your home with laughter, affection, and plenty of tail wags, I just might be your perfect match. I can't wait to meet my forever family! With a committed adopter or foster, I can be transported to the Shelter Pet Adoption Center inside Petco, located at 10017 Biddick Lane, Huntersville, NC 28078. If you’d like more information about me or want to talk about fostering or adopting, please reach out to my team by Email: NCteam@austinpetsalive.org or call: (704) 266-3647
