Story
Meet Skylar and Wyatt, the inseparable duo who have stolen our hearts! These 10-year-old mixed breeds, weighing between 20-30lbs, are the epitome of love and companionship. They're not just house trained; they're heart trained, knowing exactly how to fill your home with warmth and joy.Skylar and Wyatt's bond is truly remarkable. From the moment they met, they knew they were meant to spend every moment together. They're like two peas in a pod, always by each other's side, whether it's cuddling on the couch or taking leisurely strolls in the park. These seniors may have a few more years under their belts, but their love knows no bounds. They've mastered the art of stealing hearts with their gentle demeanor and wagging tails. And while they may be considered "needy" by some, they only crave one thing: each other's company.Skylar and Wyatt enjoy short walks, lounging around the house, access to snacks, and soft beds. They both have senior bodies that might ache from too much activity, which we are controlling with Librela injections as well as joint supplements.Skylar is the motherly one, she watches over Wyatt closely. They never stray far apart from one another. Wyatt is the more active of the two, he will do anything for some scratches and lap time! Both are incredible on a leash, great appetites and really enjoy a calmer relaxing environment. They do make amazing coworkers as well laying nearby quietly while you work. Opening your heart and home to senior pets like Skylar and Wyatt is a rewarding experience like no other. Providing them with a loving retirement home not only changes their lives but also fills your own with endless love and gratitude. So, if you're looking to make a difference in the life of a needy pet, consider giving Skylar and Wyatt the forever home they deserve. After all, every pet deserves a second act, and these two are ready to steal the show!To meet this Senior Duo please complete an application on our website https://www.secondchancenc.org/adopt-a-pet/dog-adoption-application/***Please Note: All the available dogs listed on our website are getting spoiled in private foster homes. If someone has caught your eye and you wish to arrange a meet and greet, we do need you to fill out the adoption application. When your adoption application is received our screening team will verify the information given. Once your application has been confirmed and approved, we will be send it over to the foster parent for review to determine if your home is a good match for the dog. In the event one lucky dog receives multiple applications, please know we do not select based on a first come basis. We try our best to select the best-fit for our animals and families. ***

Story
Rosie's world looked rather bleak on the day her owner abandoned her outside a veterinarian's office, leaving her chained there and enduring the pain of an injured tail. At least, she was placed where she would be easily discovered, and soon New Rattitude came to the rescue with medical care and a loving foster home. The 6-year-old rat terrier did end up having her tail removed, but she is all healed and good as new and super excited to find her forever home.   Not surprisingly, Rosie doesn't like being left alone. She needs to be with someone who works from home or who is retired and stays home most of the time. Take it from us, at an easy-to-fit-in-your-lap 14 lbs., this girl is so cute, you'll want to be with her day in and out. Rosie enjoys getting cozy and loving on her person. She is house-trained and crate trained and knows how to walk nicely on a leash. Rosie loves being outdoors, running around, and going for walks. She's working on not reacting to the other dogs and people she encounters, so her foster mom brings along treats to help Rosie have positive associations with everyone. Rosie's talent for stopping to smell everything also plays an important role in helping her to be a well-mannered walker.   Rosie gets along OK with the other dogs in her foster home and loves to play with them as long as she gets to decide how, when, and where they will play. She'll issue her invitations with a play bow, lick, or exposed belly, and she'll counter unsolicited advances by barking or growling and walking away. As long as her humans are willing to serve as playmates, she might be content to be an only dog.   Rosie is ready to be your consummate cuddler under the covers at night and your constant and close companion during the day. Check out additional photos and video at https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/rosiecharlottenc , and imagine yourself giving Rosie the rosy future she deserves. Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old. If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. NewRattitude.org/adopt/  From there, you can access our adoption application or contact our Adoption Team for more info. April 16, 2024, 9:33 pm

Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 11/6/2023 Reason for being in rescue: owner release Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Louie is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Weight: 12 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? No, but he would love one What kind of home would be best for me? Louie has never known a life that didn't involve other dogs and his human being home with him. So we're looking for that in his happily ever after. Louie is good with dogs up to about 40 lbs. He has never lived with children. He is good with cats. Louie requires a home with another small dog for play and where someone is home more than they are away (work from home, home school, active retiree, etc.) What is my personality like? We've known Louie and his siblings for several years. You see, they lived right down the street from our rescue. They were the beloved companions of a gentleman - his best friends and best companions. Sadly, their human passed away earlier this year and these pups needed rescue. It was easy to say yes to these beautiful and cherished companions. Louie loves the attention/ affection. What he needs is a strict structure and somewhere to call home.  All he wants is to be loved. Yes, it might take him some time to get used to you, but once he does, he’s the best dog. If you are out of his reach he will jump or dig under the fence to get to you. He is great with other dogs and loves to play. He gets along with cats. He is clean in his run.  How do I act when I first meet new people? Louie can be a little shy at first but once you get to know him you won’t be able to get him off of you.  Other tips and tidbits: Louie is estimated at 2 years old. We celebrate his birthday 12/1/2021. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. April 19, 2024, 5:18 pm

Trixie is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 5/11/23 she had a dental with 11 extractions. Weight: 9.5 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? No, but she would love one What kind of home would be best for me? While we know very little about Trixie's life pre-rescue, we know that she has always lived with other dogs and she has clearly known human affection. Though shy at first, she loves the people she knows and trusts. Trixie could be happy as the only dog of someone home during the day and looking for a go everywhere companion. She would also be happy with another active dog to learn from and play with. Trixie will benefit from training and exposure to new environments. She has likely never lived with children. What is my personality like? Trixie was seized by animal control along with 8 other dogs and landed at an animal shelter. Her owner had moved away and left her dogs behind. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled her from the shelter. We have no background on what her life may have been like before arriving in rescue. Trixie is an estimated 6 year old female Rat Terrier who is seeking a home in which she can love wholeheartedly for the rest of her life. Trixie needs some time to settle into a new environment, as she gets nervous in a new setting. Once she has had a bit of time to settle in, get comfortable and relax, she quickly opens up into a wonderful companion. Once comfortable, Trixie wants to be with her favorite humans and wants to do everything that they do. She loves being by your side and will go anywhere and do anything out of the pure loyalty she possesses. Sometimes, you can catch Trixie romping about and initiating play with her friends, while other times she is right by your side taking every step you take. Trixie is very affectionate and seeks attention when she realizes she can trust you and can confide in you. This sweet girl would go to the moon and back just to be with her favorite people that she loves the most. How do I act when I first meet new people? Trixie can be shy when meeting new people. She loves people, but is not completely trusting of new faces. Once comfortable, Trixie wants to be with her favorite humans and wants to do everything that they do.  Other tips and tidbits: Trixie is estimated at 6 years old. We have no records from her pre-rescue life. We celebrate her birthday as 5/2/2017. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. Story
Bolt My name is Bolt named after Usain Bolt. You guessed it I am fast just like the Olympic sprinter. It is amazing I am so fast because I have an injured pelvis. Because of this injury I have had nerve damage and lost feeling in my back end. This means I cannot pee and poop like a normal dog. My foster family and vet are working with me to see if there is some things we can try. Currently we are trying out some medications to see if we can get me to have control of my functions. We are not sure if they will work but we want to try. I am such a cute boy and very loving. I get along with the other dogs in the home. I think I am in charge of the much bigger dogs because my whole six pounds are filled with determination. I am still a puppy but have gotten over a lot of puppy behavior like chewing and biting. I weigh almost 7 lbs and need to put more weight on. I am crate trained. Currently I wear a diaper most of the time. I do not love it but put up with it to make everyone happy. I am very smart and want to do the right things when asked. I love humans, my crate and soft beds. In my foster home the other dogs think I am to fast to play with but I try to play with them. Maybe they will come around. I am looking for a home where someone will love me for me. No one know how I got injured but it was not my fault. I deserve to be loved and have a loving family like all other dogs. If you have room in your heart and lap and couch please give me a chance. I will pay you back with lots of love. If interested in giving me a forever home, please complete an application at safeanimalhaven.org.April 4, 2024, 7:39 pm
