This little guy has some serious main-character features. First, there are his ears. We are not entirely convinced Sebastian’s ears are not secretly satellite dishes. They are adorable, expressive and somehow always seem to be listening to absolutely everything. He looks like someone designed the cutest little tricolor dog possible and then added a few extra-special details just for fun. With rescue dogs, breed and age are always our best guesses rather than guarantees. Whatever may be in his family tree, Sebastian landed at a perfect small-medium size with an enormous amount of charm packed into him. Sebastian has a wonderful, easy confidence. He navigates new situations beautifully and meets other dogs with calm, polite social skills. He has done well with dogs his size, smaller dogs and dogs considerably larger than him. Whether the dogs around him are playing, running or simply relaxing, Sebastian is perfectly content sharing the space and going about his business. He could comfortably live with canine companions, but he does not need another dog in his home. His heart throbs for people. He was also wonderful when he met our house cat. Sebastian remained polite and composed, giving us every reason to believe he could be a good match for a home with a dog-savvy feline friend and proper introductions. One of our favorite things about Sebastian is how quickly people fall in love with him. He is friendly and deeply affectionate, but never demanding about it. He will happily snuggle up beside you when affection is available, but if you look busy, he is just as content curling up on the other side of the couch and keeping you company. He has an easy, happy presence that makes him feel at home almost immediately. Sebastian is house trained, crate trained and has been a wonderful little houseguest. He walks beautifully on leash and would make an excellent sidekick for neighborhood strolls and everyday outings. He also enjoys treats and takes them with the softest, gentlest mouth. The best thing about Sebastian is, hands down, his personality. He is lively, affectionate, a little goofy and equipped with just the right amount of spunk. He has a way of making ordinary moments more entertaining simply because he is there, whether he is trotting through the house, carrying a toy or supervising the room with those highly advanced ears. At approximately six years old, Sebastian offers a particularly lovely balance. He is happy and curious, with plenty of personality and enthusiasm, but he also knows how to settle down and enjoy a peaceful afternoon on the couch. He is confident without being over the top, affectionate without being needy and social without requiring constant entertainment. Snuggles Cuddlesworth is the kind of dog who reminds you just how much tenderness can live inside one little soul. She is sweet, gentle, and quietly trying to be brave, even when the world still feels a little bigger than she is ready for. She may not immediately run into your arms, but give her a little patience and a peaceful place to land, and you will begin to see the affectionate, curious little dog waiting underneath all that shyness. She is not the kind of dog who immediately climbs into a stranger’s lap or demands everyone’s attention. She watches, takes everything in, and opens up once she realizes she is safe. With Snuggles, trust is built through patience, consistency, and all those quiet moments that may seem small to everyone else but mean everything to her. Snuggles is dog friendly and has done great with the other dogs she has spent time around. She is currently fostered with one large dog and one teeny-tiny Miniature Pinscher mix, and she gets along wonderfully with both. She enjoys playing chase and does best with easygoing dogs who are gentle but still willing to have a little fun. She is not looking for anything overly rowdy or rambunctious, just respectful dog friends who will not turn every interaction into a wrestling match. While Snuggles enjoys other dogs, she is definitely more of a people’s dog than a dog’s dog. She naturally gravitates toward her humans and would much rather stay close to her favorite people, soak up their attention, and quietly keep them company. She would be perfectly happy sharing her home with another friendly dog, but she does not need a canine companion to feel comfortable or fulfilled. Her people are who truly make her happiest. Snuggles is also currently being fostered in a home with cats and has been respectful and appropriate around them. She does not chase or seem bothered by them moving around, jumping, or doing all the mysterious little things cats do. With proper introductions and respectful feline friends, we believe she could happily share her future home with cats. Some of Snuggles’ happiest moments happen outside. She loves running around, exploring the yard, and keeping her foster company while she gardens. She will happily wander through the plants, investigate every interesting scent, and enjoy the freedom of having a safe outdoor space where she can relax and be herself. There is something so endearing about watching this shy little dog come alive outside before making her way back to her favorite person. Inside the home, Snuggles is wonderfully easy to have around. Her foster says she has great house manners, and she is crate trained and very comfortable in her crate. It gives her a safe, familiar place where she can relax without feeling pressured. She also loves treats and enjoys playing with toys, both of which are wonderful ways to help her build confidence and strengthen her bond with her future family. Snuggles’ softness is what makes her so special. She does not need someone who expects an instant connection or measures love by how quickly a dog asks for affection. She needs someone who understands that shy dogs have their own way of saying, “I’m starting to trust you.” It may begin with her choosing to stay nearby, following you into the yard, relaxing while you move around the house, or looking to you when she needs reassurance. Eventually, those little moments begin adding up to something incredibly meaningful. A calm home with patient people would give Snuggles the time and reassurance she needs to continue opening up. She may never be the dog who wants to greet every person she meets, but she does not have to be. She is sweet, affectionate, quietly playful, and ready to build a life with someone who will love her exactly where she is while giving her the space to become everything she is capable of being. Some dogs hand out their trust freely. Honeybear believes the best relationships are built one kind interaction at a time! She may take a little while to decide you're one of her people, but once she does, you'll have a loyal little companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side! You'll see a gentle little girl who blossoms with patience, quietly seeking out affection, climbing into laps, and showing off the sweet kisses that have become her signature way of saying, "I trust you." Estimated to have been born around May 17, 2021, Honeybear is approximately 5 years old, weighs around 9.6 lbs and appears to be a Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix, though as with all rescue dogs, her breed and age are simply our best educated guess. She has a beautiful tan coat with soft cream accents, expressive buggy eyes, and once she's comfortable, an adorable smile that's guaranteed to brighten your day. Honeybear is scheduled to be spayed on August 8th before heading home with her forever family! Honeybear has been settling into foster care beautifully. While she can be a little reserved when meeting new people, she continues to gain confidence every day. Gentle introductions, patience, and a handful of treats are the quickest way to win her over. She does warm up quicker to women than with men. With time and patience, she’ll be snuggled up right next to you. Once she knows she's safe, her affectionate personality shines. And when Honeybear loves you, she really loves you! She's a true lap dog who would happily spend hours curled up beside her favorite person. She sleeps in bed with her foster family each night, follows her people from room to room during the day, and has a sweet habit of showing affection with gentle little kisses. She isn't loud or demanding—she simply loves being close to the people who make her feel safe. Food is definitely the way to Honeybear's heart. She happily accepts treats, already knows "sit," and enjoys spending time outside once she's comfortable. She also rides well in the car, making her an easy little companion for errands or adventures. Honeybear currently lives with several other dogs and has done wonderfully after taking a little time to settle in. Today, she happily plays with them, relaxes alongside them, and enjoys having canine companions around. In fact, another friendly dog may even help her continue building confidence, as she can experience a little separation anxiety when left alone and seems comforted by having both her people and other dogs nearby. She also met one of our calm, dog-friendly cats and handled the introduction beautifully. Honeybear voluntarily walked over, offered a polite sniff, and calmly moved on. Based on that interaction, we think she'd likely do well with a mellow, cat-savvy feline after thoughtful introductions. Honeybear has excellent potty manners and is adjusting nicely to everyday home life. She is still learning that the kennel is a safe place and may protest a bit when confined, but she's making progress as she settles into a routine. One thing her future family should know is that Honeybear prefers to enjoy her meals without interruptions. Like many dogs, she can be protective of her food around people and other dogs, so feeding her separately or giving her a quiet space during mealtimes will help everyone succeed. Her foster has found this to be simple to manage. Because Honeybear is naturally more thoughtful and reserved, we think she'd be happiest in a home with a calmer lifestyle where relationships are allowed to develop at her pace. She hasn't yet been around young children, so any introductions should be slow, respectful, and supervised. Honeybear isn't looking to be everyone's best friend the moment she walks through the door. She's looking for her person—someone who understands that trust is earned, celebrates the little milestones, and appreciates the quiet kind of love that only grows stronger with time. Louie’s legs are as long as his hopes for lap-dog life are high! Estimated to be around 9 months old and 23 lbs, this leggy little black-and-white cutie boy appears to be a Rat Terrier/ Jack Russell mix but of course, with rescue dogs that is simply our best educated guess. His adorable spotted coat, impossibly expressive face, and ears that somehow manage to stand up in perfect little triangles while still flopping around when he runs make him look like he walked straight out of a children's storybook. He loves having dog friends to play with, happily shares toys, enjoys splashing around in the water, and approaches life with the kind of happy curiosity that makes every day a little more entertaining. He can be a touch shy when meeting someone new, but don't expect that stage to last long. A little sweet talk and a yummy treat leads to a belly rub request and suddenly you're one of his favorite people. Once he feels comfortable, his affectionate side shines. He loves giving kisses and firmly believes that those wonderfully long legs qualify him for full-time lap dog privileges. Louie has lived with children before and has done beautifully. He is gentle taking treats, enjoys being part of the family, and has the kind of playful personality that fits naturally into an active, fun-loving household. Whether the kids are tossing toys in the yard or everyone is relaxing together after dinner, Louie is happy simply being there. He's also a great little road trip companion. He rides well in the car and is always ready to see where the day leads. He's the kind of dog who seems to find fun wherever he goes. Because Louie is still a young dog, he is continuing to polish his leash skills. He already has the basics down and is eager to learn, so with a little consistency and positive reinforcement, he'll continue growing into a wonderfully well-mannered companion. Louies love of the sprinklers and rolling in the grass would be perfectly happy living house with a yard life and because he can occasionally bark to let you know someone is at the door or he heard something, Louie is not for apartment life. It isn't constant or excessive, but shared walls probably wouldn't appreciate his enthusiasm for neighborhood updates. ** Currently fostered in Port Angeles, WA ** Who's the silliest, spunkiest, smartest little love bug you could ever wish for? It's Rigger! We suspect he might be a mix of chihuahua, rat terrier, and circus clown because he's such a ridiculous goofball. He's 23 lbs of joy. But he doesn’t take long to warm up and give the most tender kisses. Add a little more time and he's completely devoted to you. This boy might be shy, but he isn't shy about showing his affection. And he is very, very eager to please you. He stares into your eyes with such hope and love, it melts your heart! One of our favorite things about Rigger is how QUIET he is! We've only heard him bark twice in the months he's been in our care. How often do you meet a little dog who's almost completely silent?? A very smart dog who can't resist hearing what a good boy he is, Rigger is potty trained and crate trained. He is quite motivated by food, which is a great training asset! So far, he knows "kennel," "sit," and "down" and is enjoying learning more. He learns SO FAST! He came to us terrified of the leash, but is now a super good boy on his walkies in the neighborhood, sniffing happily and not afraid of his environment. Rigger is submissive with his foster mom and his two pittie foster brothers. But he is still full of sass! He loves to play with dogs more than twice his size, as long as they’re gentle and kind. He enjoys chasing, being chased, and ferociously thrashing stuffies and crinkle toys. And he loves a tasty bone to chew. He's quite athletic, trotting with high steps or leaping through the grass, and he's fast as lightning. This devoted pup follows his foster mom or his foster brothers around the house and yard. He is always happy and spunky, with oodles of love to give. He is most content when he's on the sofa next to you, preferably being petted, but just snoozing and leaning against you are great too. Rigger's adopter will need to continue working with him on socialization and exposure. He is looking for a home where his human is around most of the time, with no small children, and plenty of play time. He makes his own fun with toys if no one will play with him, though he sure prefers a playmate. He would very much prefer to live with other dogs. He watches the other dogs in the house, learns from them, and gets a lot of confidence from them too. We don't know about cats, though, as he hasn't met any yet.
