She's still a tiny baby with an entire lifetime of growing, learning, exploring, and loving ahead of her. Fiona is friendly with other dogs and good with children. Her compatibility with cats is currently unknown. As a Rat Terrier mix, Fiona may grow into a bright, curious, playful, energetic, and affectionate companion. Rat Terriers are often clever little dogs who enjoy being involved with their families. They may be small, but they can have plenty of personality, enthusiasm, and intelligence packed into their little bodies. Because Fiona is only two months old and a mixed breed, her eventual adult size, appearance, personality, and energy level cannot be predicted with certainty. Rescue puppies generally arrive with basic training at best, so Fiona's family should be prepared to work on: House training Crate training as appropriate Basic commands Leash introduction Appropriate chewing Bite inhibition Calm greetings Household boundaries Safe puppy socialization Becoming comfortable with handling and grooming At this young age, positive experiences matter. Xander is loving and loyal with an extra helping of sass! He loves treats and training games. He knows many tricks and would love to learn more. Car rides, long walks and cuddles are some of his other favorite activities.As a middle aged dog his energy level is low to moderate. He bonds deeply with his people and is an attentive companion, ready to match your mood. He'll happily entertain you with antics, curl up with you and your book or hit the trail for an adventure! You choose!An ideal home for him is experienced with terriers, enjoys training, and is able to be with him most of the day. My kids moved out and I work full time - it's not fair for him to be alone that much. He takes daily medication (with food), a monthly injection, and twice per year labs for Addison's Disease. Strangers frighten him at first but he warms up quickly with an intentional introduction. He loves his dog sitters and other friends! I've not attempted introductions with other dogs or cats.

Louie’s legs are as long as his hopes for lap-dog life are high! Estimated to be around 9 months old and 23 lbs, this leggy little black-and-white cutie boy appears to be a Rat Terrier/ Jack Russell mix but of course, with rescue dogs that is simply our best educated guess. His adorable spotted coat, impossibly expressive face, and ears that somehow manage to stand up in perfect little triangles while still flopping around when he runs make him look like he walked straight out of a children's storybook. He loves having dog friends to play with, happily shares toys, enjoys splashing around in the water, and approaches life with the kind of happy curiosity that makes every day a little more entertaining. He can be a touch shy when meeting someone new, but don't expect that stage to last long. A little sweet talk and a yummy treat leads to a belly rub request and suddenly you're one of his favorite people. Once he feels comfortable, his affectionate side shines. He loves giving kisses and firmly believes that those wonderfully long legs qualify him for full-time lap dog privileges. Louie has lived with children before and has done beautifully. He is gentle taking treats, enjoys being part of the family, and has the kind of playful personality that fits naturally into an active, fun-loving household. Whether the kids are tossing toys in the yard or everyone is relaxing together after dinner, Louie is happy simply being there. He's also a great little road trip companion. He rides well in the car and is always ready to see where the day leads. He's the kind of dog who seems to find fun wherever he goes. Because Louie is still a young dog, he is continuing to polish his leash skills. He already has the basics down and is eager to learn, so with a little consistency and positive reinforcement, he'll continue growing into a wonderfully well-mannered companion.
