Story
Slinky is one of 11 hound mixes that rescuers in rural SW Oklahoma saved from a property where they barely had any shelter and fed inconsistently. Several rescues stepped in to take the dogs. I took 3. They are about 11 months old. And despite their horrible start in life all 3 of them have wonderful personalities and are super sweet. They are very big, calm and great with other dogs and cats. Shy at first but always friendly. They do bark at the fence if another dog is on the other side but that's pretty common with a lot of dogs. If you want a chill dog that is big, Slinky is your match. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tacoma, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Vermont (Brattleboro) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative). Adoption fee: $450 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
Gunther (born 12/9/25) is a sleek black Bloodhound–Lab mix with glossy fur, a white chest splash, tiny white-tipped toes, and gloriously long floppy ears. He is an energetic, playful puppy who loves wrestling with other dogs, chasing leaves, and hoarding toys in his bed like treasure. He enjoys enrichment like snuffle mats, treat-dispensing toys, bully sticks, and ball pits. He uses potty pads overnight and is working on consistent outdoor potty training during the day — he will whimper at the door to signal but can get distracted during play. Gunther is affectionate in sweet bursts (especially when held) but is currently more interested in play than long cuddle sessions. He rides well in a crate in the car and snores when he’s deeply relaxed. Gunther absolutely needs another young, playful dog in his home. He would thrive with an active family that understands puppy structure and will continue his training. He is joyful, balanced, and full of heart — a silly, loving companion in the making. 💜 *** Go to www.pawsitiverestorations.com to learn all about our dogs, watch their silly videos, read our adoption process, and to submit an adoption application. Story
Hudson (born 12/9/25) is a black Bloodhound–Lab mix with soulful brown eyes, a tiny white chest patch, and unforgettable velvet ears. He’s an energetic (8/10) but thoughtful puppy who loves yard play, interactive toys, and wrestling with other dogs. Crate trained at night and doing great with potty training on a consistent schedule (about 90% success outside). Social with kids, dogs, and cats. Affectionate but curious — he cuddles intentionally, then pops up to explore. Best suited for an active home with a yard and ideally another dog. Smart, adaptable, and ready to grow alongside his forever family. *** Go to www.pawsitiverestorations.com to learn all about our dogs, watch their silly videos, read our adoption process, and to submit an adoption application.
