Story
Slinky is a large, ~11-month-old hound mix with a calm, easygoing personality and a gentle nature. He’s sweet, friendly, and gets along great with other dogs and cats. While a little shy at first, he warms up quickly and settles into a relaxed, low-key companion. Slinky is the kind of dog who brings a calm presence—he’s not high-energy or demanding, just happy to be part of a stable home. Good fit: someone looking for a big, chill dog who is easy to live with and enjoys a quieter, more relaxed lifestyle. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Location: Oklahoma (available to approved out-of-state adopters via transport) Health: Fully vetted (neutered/spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested) Adoption fee: $450 (includes transport + vetting) Bonus: Each adoption includes a 30-minute phone consultation with a professional trainer Transport routes: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ, VT Think you might be a good fit? Story
Dora here my foster mom wanted me to tell you a little bit about myself. She chose my name because I love to explore. I seem to have had a well socialized beginning in that I have no real fear and get along with pretty much everybody. The one thing I didn’t seem to get was a lot of training, but we’re working on that now and I have learned so much in a short time. I hope it’s OK if I tell you a little bit about what I’ve learned and what I’m looking for in a forever home. I’m doing very well with my leash skills; I don’t react to other dogs and walk nicely on a loose leash although I can weave a bit… I mean, there is so much to explore. I’ve done very well with my house training and sleep through the night in a kennel. I’m trying so hard not to jump up, but I get so excited so we’re still working on that and therefore I’m probably not a good fit for young children or somebody with balance issues. I come when you call me and so far, haven’t barked. I think it’s weird when the other dogs in the neighborhood bark I just go to the porch and watch. What do you think about toys? I love them, hopefully my new home would provide me with lots of them to play with so I can self entertain. I would thrive with another playful pup in my life and a yard where I can do zoomies.  I am very athletic and the house can sometimes be my jungle gym. I promise my antics will make you smile. I have definite potential for agility training and possibly even dock jumping. I can easily jump over Quincy one of the residents dogs. Are you willing to continue my training and socialization to make me the best girl ever? If I sound like a good fit for you what are you waiting for…fill out the application so we can get started. I won’t be able to go home till after October 2 because I have to have something called a spay whatever that is but we could get to know each other before then.  Thank you for considering me, love Dora. If you're interested in meeting me please fill out an application at www.thegooddogrescue.org (If you already have an approved application, please email thegooddogrescueadoptions@gmail.com with your interest in me!) My adoption fee is $350 and I am spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations for my age ##2848579##
