Story
Poor Daisy was rescued by Castoff Pet Rescue, she had not been well cared for. We treated her and fully vetted her and she is ready for a home! She is a beautiful hound dog, with the most beautiful coat. She is a young adult and sadly she has been with us too long and she needs a home to call her own because the shelter stress is getting to her. Daisy is good with most dogs and no cats, but loves people. She is an active girl, like most hounds and she loves long walks and being able to sniff. She would love a "job" or just an active family but settles down really nicely. Please help us get her out of our shelter and into her own home where she can get the love and activity she so desperately needs! She requires a fenced in yard with an active family. Would be better with older children due to her activity level. She would make someone a great dog given the chance. She is high strung here at the shelter because of all the others. She is FULL OF ENERGY.

Story
Merida is a sweet and loving girl who loves to cuddle. She is crate trained, affectionate, and gentle with her humans. She does get playful, and given that she is a coonhoud, she needs exercise and enrichment. The best enrichment for her is smell-based, such as treat puzzles, snuffle mats, or simply hiding treats and toys in the back yard for her to find. She gets along with other big dogs. She has a prey drive, so small dogs and cats are not a good idea. She would love a home where she could be a family member and best friend. Merida hasn't had the easiest life so far but she knows there's a home for her out there somewhere. May 4, 2024, 8:28 pm

Story
Sweet, shy redbone hound about 8 years old and 45 lbs.  She has had a hard life, is very shy. and is recovering in the Howling Wolf Cabin.  She came on 12/30/21 as a hospice case from the Valley River Humane Society in Murphy, NC as a stray but she has made a remarkable recovery.  Camillia is a low hw positive and is on the slow kill hw method with ivermectin.  She now has good food and a warm wood stove to lie by.  She has gained enough weight in the first two weeks to no longer appeared starved.  Camillia is a lovable hound.April 21, 2024, 7:51 pm

Story
Meet Tonks! Tonks is a little shy but wants to be your BFF with time. Tonks is a Treeing Walker Coonhound, Labrador Retriever mix who was born on 09/03/2020. When she came to TLC she was nervous but deep down, Tonks is a gentle pup and we know that she could live the very best life with an owner who has the time and patience to show her that there is so much kindness out there.Tonks' adoption fee is sponsored so that covers her spay, microchip, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm test (Tonks is negative!), and she is up to date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. If you'd like to meet Tonks, feel free to fill out an adoption application at tlchs.org or you are welcome to make a match making appointment to come out and meet her. We are open Tuesday through Sunday from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
