Cooper came to Furkids as a rescue, and while he's faced his share of challenges, including a prior leg injury that led to the amputation of one of his back legs. You'd never know it by watching him move. He gets around just fine and lives life with the same easygoing charm as any other hound. Cooper has lived with other dogs before and did well. He's a super sweet boy, ready and eager to become someone's next family member. Cooper is currently heartworm positive, which means he'll need to be adopted in Atlanta area so he can return to Furkids for treatment. Furkids will cover the entire cost of his heartworm treatment. With a little patience and a lot of love, Cooper is ready to start the next chapter of his life with a family who will stick by him through it. Cooper's estimated birthdate is January 2024 and he weighs 73 pounds. His adoption fee is $315, and he has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Lucky will thrive as the only dog in the home due to some resource guarding, and he has a special soft spot for teenagers. He can be shy around unfamiliar men at first, but with patience and consistency, he forms strong, loyal bonds. She does get playful, and given that she is a coonhoud, she needs exercise and enrichment. The best enrichment for her is smell-based, such as treat puzzles, snuffle mats, or simply hiding treats and toys in the back yard for her to find. She gets along with other big dogs. She has a prey drive, so small dogs and cats are not a good idea. She would love a home where she could be a family member and best friend.
