Story
Meet our sweet natured boy Afton! He is now 2 year old and believed to be a bloodhound blend on the smaller side. He is fully grown at about 50 ish pounds. He is AMAZING! EXTREMELY SMART and enjoyable! He can be stubborn at times but nothing that can’t be managed, so patience is merited. Afton is well-mannered and eager to pleasefriendly happy go lucky and so darn sweet! He enjoys group play, daily pack walks, and meeting new people and dogs. Afton is amazing with dogs of all ages and sizes, cats too. He is very outgoing and amazing with children too. Afton is a follower if a dominant dog is present. He is active but not hyper and genuinely happy. Afton will make an extraordinary family dog with an active affectionate outgoing family. He has a hound-like personality. He is all heart! Basic obedience extraordinaire. He enjoys being active and learning and is extremely food and praise motivated. Afton makes training FUN! He Is a simple dog with a big heart full of love and ready to share it with everyone he meets. You will have fun with Afton. He knows how to make everyone smile, and laugh, and helps a difficult day become better. It comes naturally to him as he is very nurturing and sweet natured. Afton needs another dog in the home. He is a hound this alone makes him almost perfect. I promise you will not be disappointed. Afton is house and crate trained, up to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto, corona as well as rabies, de-wormed, fecal tested negative, micro-chipped, neutered, and on monthly heart-worm flea/tick prevention. Updated: 3/25/2023 www.animalhousesanctuary.org We believe training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues that arise, need to be addressed and/or rewarded. Understanding that continued training is a lifetime commitment, is very important. Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense. Meet & Greets are a required before proceeding with an adoption. We DO NOT ship any of our pets.

Meet Patrick – The Go-Getter with a Heart of Gold! Looking for a loyal buddy who’s as smart as he is sweet? Meet Patrick, a bright working dog with tons of love (and energy!) to share.Patrick loves having a purpose! Whether it’s learning new tricks, joining you for a jog, or showing off his “sit” and “stay,” Patrick is happiest when he’s got something to do. He’s already made great strides in his training and is eager to keep learning with a family who will guide him along his journey. When he’s not out exploring or playing sniffy games, Patrick enjoys quality downtime and enrichment toys that keep his sharp mind busy. He’s lived with cats before and was curious but was kept seperate. He has met with other dogs. He was reactive but has potential. He would need a lenghty slow introduction. Patrick dreams of a home where he can stretch his legs, keep his brain buzzing, and get all the TLC he deserves. If you’re ready for an active, affectionate companion who’ll make every day an adventure, Patrick’s your guy! Adoptions are free and include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home. Adopted pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before leaving with you. To view our current available animals, please visit: https://indy.gov/activity/adopt-a-pet.

PLEASE READ: Thank you for your interest in one of our adoptable dogs! All dogs listed are still available. If interested, please complete our no obligation application. This can be found at www.waldosmuttleycrew.org. Select the Applications tab, then Adoption Application. THE APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED BEFORE WE CAN START THE PROCESS. It can take up to a week to process an application. We are an all-volunteer rescue so please be patient. Our adoption area is limited to a 4 hour radius of Indianapolis. We try our best to provide all information in our bios. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask during the interview process. Some of our dogs have special requirements such as needs another dog in the home or requires a physical and permanent fenced yard. These requirements are not negotiable. Unless otherwise noted, we do not cat test our adoptable dogs. We also require that all pets in your household be spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and on a monthly heartworm/flea preventative. E-MAILS: We do not respond to e-mail inquiries without an application. We regret that we cannot respond to every e-mail unless you fill out an application. All the dogs we offer for adoption have been spayed/neutered, wormed and microchipped, are up-to-date on immunizations, have been tested for heartworm and are currently receiving a monthly preventative. If the dog had additional medical issues, those have also been addressed. Visit our website www.waldosmuttleycrew.org for more information and to complete an application. Ogden, or Oggie Doggie as we like to call him, has such a zest for life!!! He loves people and attention ... armpit scratches and ear rubs are a favorite of his!!! Oggie is a 2 year old treeing walker coonhound/pointer mix weighing about 65 lbs. He LOVES to play with other dogs and is constantly involved in games of chase and wrestling. He is slightly dominant with males so, although he does play with other males well, would do best in a home with a playful girlfriend. Oggie is high energy so needs a large yard with at least a 5 foot fence; he can easily jump over anything shorter and will do so if he spots a bunny. He loves toys but is a "slayer" of the stuffed ones; they then have to be buried in shallow graves in the yard. LOL! Ogden is sure to keep you laughing with his antics; he has such a huge personality! His perfect home will be one where he won't have to be crated for long hours, a large yard with a 5 foot or higher fence, and must have a very playful female dog to be his best friend. Oggie Doggie's adoption fee is $225; he's neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations and monthly heartworm/flea preventative. Applications are available at waldosmuttleycrew.org .
