They call me Leon. I’m a good-looking Redbone, 11 years old and 44lbs, with big soulful eyes (so I’m told) who’s just looking for someone to love me in a long-term relationship. You see, when I love, I love completely but I need some time to get to know you. Can you give me some of your time? I promise to make it worth your while. I live at EHR’s kennel but one day a week my best friend brings me to his house to hang with him and his family. Those are the best days because I get to run & run & just stretch out my long legs. It just feels so good. And I have a canine buddy who runs & plays with me, too, along with a couple of teenaged boys. I mean, those are the happiest hours of my week. And they’ve helped me learn good house manners so when you find me – and I sure hope you do – you will be impressed by what a good dog I am. I’m housetrained and I don’t jump up on the furniture – I’ve even completed a dog obedience class. I have lots of energy and I love to play with toys. I’m a good listener and I’m eager to please – all I want to do is make you happy.  I’ve worked hard to become the dog I am today with a lot of help from my friends. This is Tulip, a purebred female Redbone Coonhound who’s up to date on her shots, 3 1/2 years old and is Spayed. She is an amazing dog, super sweet with people and fantastic with kids (including my 4 month old daughter). Unfortunately, we can’t keep her anymore as she doesn’t get along with my other dog. She is great with dogs at a dog park but needs to be the only dog in her home. We have everything for her, 2 cages, wet and dry food bowls etc…, she just needs a loving home with a family she can snuggle on the couch with and have all the attention on her. Meet Buddy Boy! This sweet boy is absolutely perfect! We think Buddy is a hound mix with redbone coonhound and maybe Catahoula leopard dog! What we do know for sure, is he is amazing! Buddy is about 18 months old and 65 pounds. Buddy is a very happy boy that is playful but also likes to be calm and chill. Watching TV with his new family may be the perfect pastime. Buddy is house and crate trained. He also does well on a leash, and he will need some practice to make walks fun and exciting! Buddy is lucky to be alive, he came to us minutes before he was to lose his life at the shelter, and we are very grateful to be able to help him find his forever home. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed.
