You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Look at this distinguished gentleman! Cooper is a 2-year-old goofball with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He might be a little shy when you first meet him, but don’t let that fool you—once he realizes you’re there to give him all the pets, he quickly blossoms into your most loyal best friend. This sweet boy just needs a moment to warm up, and then his silly, playful side shines through. Whether he’s making you laugh with his goofy antics or leaning in for affection, Cooper knows how to win hearts. He absolutely loves attention and will happily stick by your side once he feels comfortable. Cooper is also a huge fan of couch time. After some fun and play, he’s more than ready to curl up next to you, soak in the pets, and enjoy a cozy night in. He’s the perfect mix of playful and laid-back, making him an ideal companion for both adventures and relaxing evenings at home. If you’re looking for a dog who will form a deep bond and reward your patience with endless love (and laughs), Cooper is your guy! Cooper has such interesting features, we decided to DNA test him. View his results in his pictures! Thank you for checking out our wonderful orphans. Story
Buddy is a super lovable guy who loves attention. He will be two years old on April 24th. He is doing wonderful learning the leash. I think a fenced yard or regular dog park trips would be wonderful for him. Buddy is smart and loves to chew on bones and play with tug o war ropes. He loves stuffies as well, but the stuffies always lose the fight😆! We love him so much, but my landlord has decided that he looks like a pitbull, and he's too big (he's 61lbs at last check). Also, my roommate is elderly and doesn't want to fight. So this is our best option.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- LINCOLN IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW.Hello! Meet LincolnLincoln is a handsome treeing walker hound, 2.5 y old. He isn't interested in hunting and is looking for a new home. He is seeking an adoptive or foster home. Lincoln would be best suited as the only dog; he can be protective of his food and space with other dogs. He's lived outdoors and would need some training in the house, but he's sweet and food-motivated.Also included in the adoption are 30 days of Pet First Pet Insurance, a new lead and collar, and an adoption kit.Apply online:https://www.highlandcountyhumanesociety.org/available-animals/To contact us, please send an email or FB message to:Email: info@highlandcountyhumanesociety.orgFacebook: www.facebook.com/HighlandHumaneWebsite: www.highlandcountyhumanesociety.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 16, 2026, 8:28 pm

Story
Copper is a very good dog and we are devastated that we need to surrender him. He’s very lazy most of the time but enjoys running around outside when given the opportunity to play with kids and/or other dogs. He’s great with children of all ages as well as other pets and chickens. He responds to his name when called, is crate and house trained, knows a few small tricks. We only hope he goes to a very loving home with a family who will take good care of him. It would be great if we’d be able to hear from his new family with updates but it’s not expected.

Story
Cooper is a smart, loving, energetic dog who loves hiking and exploring new smells. My husband and I got him before we had kids but his severe separation anxiety has always been a hurdle. Now that we have two small kids our daily activities and schedules have changed drastically - we're not as active and the kids have been an added stressor for him. We are hoping to find a home that he can thrive in. Cooper feels like a part of our family so it's hard to come to this decision, but knowing that he may find a home that can give him what he needs helps. He loves dogs and people, he gets annoyed with my kids but he has NEVER hurt them. He's a very good boy.
