Hi&#44 Im Presley! Im a very social guy who loves people and can get a bit bouncy with excitement. I absolutely love being outside and would be thrilled to have a yard or space where I can run and explore. Im also really good at letting you know when I need my own space&#44 so youll always know how Im feeling.

Im happiest when Im the center of attention&#44 and Id thrive in a home with older kids or adults who can keep up with my energy and enthusiasm. Im also not too keen on sharing my space with other dogs&#44 so a solo home would be perfect for me.

Presley is a part of our Patient Paws special. You can name your own adoption fee!

Story
Meet Hemi! This handsome guy was an owner surrender at not fault of his own with his son Roscoe. Unfortunately their previous owners living arrangements changed and could no longer keep them. We do have Roscoe and Hemi as a bonded pair but we are not requiring them to be adopted out together, but if we could get them out together that would be great. Hemi is a lot different personality wise than Roscoe is, Hemi is very confident with himself. Just like his son Roscoe, Hemi loves the water and loves walks. He also really loves boat rides. Hemi did live in a home with kids and a cat and did great with them. Hemi also will sound his own alarm and is a vocal boy. We had a generous person donate towards the care of Roscoe (Redbone coon hound mix, 40lbs a year old) and Hemi (Redbone Coon hound, 62lbs, just over a year and a half). They were both Neutered today, they received their rabies shot, and they are both heartworm negative. They went to Richmond Animal Richmond Animal League today for their care (Thank you RAL for taking great care of them) and the wonderful staff at RAL said they were both on their best behavior and just as sweet as ever. Hopefully this donation towards their vet care will help these 2 get adopted. They are both absolutely beautiful and sweet as can be. Must see in person. Big thank you to Salem's Light for covering the rest of the surgery fees. You guys are amazing

Story
Fergi and Fetti (her mom) were taken from a local hunter, due to inadequate conditions. They are very sweet, but have never lived inside a home. They need a hero to come adopt and teach them about the good life inside a home. They do climb chain link fences, so they need homes who can contain them. Call New Kent at 804-966-9500

Story
We got Buccee from the Richmond Animal League. He is 2 years old. He is anxious but is getting better each day. He does not bark at anyone. Loud noises frighten him, so young kids may be overwhelming. He is also getting better with this. He loves his crate, it is his safe space. He is currently being potty trained, and very, very rarely has accidents in the house. He is not violent at all. He is very quiet, other than when he is excited to eat lol.He is not destructive either. He is good around cats, but my kitty unfortunately did not like him. He is very sweet and playful once he feels comfortable with you.

Story
If you are looking for a loyal outdoor companion with a heart of gold, say hello to Kahlua—an 8-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound mix who defines “good ole’ boy” in the best possible way. Around 60 pounds of love and sweetness, Kahlua lives for sunshine, breezes, rustling leaves, and long, thoughtful walks. He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t rush through life—he notices everything, appreciates the little things, and reminds you to slow down and enjoy the moment. Kahlua has impeccable manners. Need to tie your shoe? He’ll stop and wait. Collar slips off? He’ll walk right over so you can fix it. He listens beautifully and truly wants to please his person. He also has a fun side—he loves squeaky toys, playing fetch (sharing the ball is a work in progress!), giving kisses, and being tucked in under cozy blankets like the pampered hound he is. This boy is also a lake and boat enthusiast—a true water bug who will happily join you for every lakeside adventure. He grew up with other dogs and prefers being the “big guy,” doing well with respectful smaller dogs or calmer companions. Solo walks? He’s relaxed and steady. With bigger, energetic dogs? He may pull a bit in excitement. Kahlua loves kids who treat him kindly and is friendly toward cats, even though he didn’t share a home with them before. Above all else, Kahlua is drawn to people who make him feel loved—give him attention and he’ll give you his whole heart. He does get springtime seasonal allergies, so starting Apoquel in February or early March keeps him feeling his best. It’s a simple bit of care for a dog who gives so much sweetness in return. Kahlua’s former mama adored him deeply but faced life changes that made caring for him impossible. Now he’s ready for a forever home where he can spend his years surrounded by stability, love, comfort, and a family who appreciates everything he has to offer. Kahlua is ready to be someone’s best friend. If you want a loyal companion with an old soul and endless love to share, come meet this wonderful boy. Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested in giving this boy the years of his life as your best sidekick ever PLEASE NOTE: Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted. Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site. The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive. Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 12, 2026, 9:57 am

Story
Lily is a sweet, spunky pup with a heart as big as her curiosity! She adores the great outdoors — sniffing everything or just lounging in the sun thinking about snacks. Lily does best in a fenced backyard. This happy girl loves the company of other dogs and enjoys a good romp and play session, but she’s just as content spending long stretches in full couch-potato mode. Lily is a true love bug who thrives on attention, gentle affection, and being close to her people. Lily is beginning to show a touch of her more mature side—she may be startled if woken suddenly and prefers to keep her favorite toys to herself—but otherwise she’s a hound personality through and through: loyal, easygoing, and full of quiet charm. She would shine in a calm, caring home where she can enjoy both playful moments and plenty of cozy rest. If you’re looking for a loving companion with a gentle soul and a happy tail wag, Lily may be the perfect fit. Adopters have 30 days of free access to 1-on-1 text and email support from trainers at Petcademy to help make every pet's transition into their new home as smooth as possible. All dogs available for adoption have been spayed/neutered, microchipped and are current on all vaccinations. Please email dogs@henricohumane.org for more information.
