Story
Meet Bucket! Bucket is a lovable 1-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback mix who has made an incredible transformation during his time at the shelter! This sweet boy needed a little time to decompress and discover that the world isn`t such a scary place, and now he`s ready to find a patient family who will help him continue growing into the wonderful adult dog he`s meant to be. When Bucket first arrived, he was shy and lacking confidence. He would sometimes hide under tables and shake when he felt overwhelmed. With time, patience, and support from staff, he has blossomed into a much more confident pup! These days, he`s happy to get out and explore, stays close to his favorite people, and no longer feels the need to hide. Bucket has a fun puppy personality and plenty of energy, but one of his best qualities is his ability to settle himself. After getting his zoomies out, he can often be found quietly sitting at his handler`s feet, perfectly content to hang out with his person. Bucket also enjoys other dogs! When introduced to a confident canine companion, he came completely out of his shell and had a wonderful time playing. He does have a more forward, rough-and-tumble puppy play style, so a dog-to-dog introduction is required if there`s another dog in the home to make sure everyone is a good match. Like any young dog, Bucket is still learning his manners. He`s working on things like keeping his paws on the floor and not jumping up when he`s excited or happy. He`ll thrive with an adopter who is patient, consistent, and committed to ongoing training, structure, exercise, and positive reinforcement. Because of his exuberant puppy manners, a home without young children is recommended.Bucket is a big-hearted puppy who just needs someone willing to show him the ropes of home life. He`s sweet, playful, affectionate, and ready to keep learning. If you`re looking for a lovable adventure buddy who can also settle down for some quality time at your feet, Bucket may be the perfect match!

Story
Scooby is a friendly, sweet-natured mixed-breed dog, approximately 1-1/2 years old, with a sleek reddish-brown coat, white chest/blaze, and white paws. His build and coloring suggest Rhodesian Ridgeback and/or Redbone Coonhound ancestry, possibly mixed with Lab or Boxer, athletic, medium-large frame, floppy ears, and an expressive curled tail. Scooby started life as a stray puppy found at a park before being taken in by a caring family. He's grown into a big, energetic, affectionate young dog who loves attention and is eager to engage with people — he lights up around visitors and enjoys treats and interaction whenever he can get it. Due to a change in his family's circumstances (his size outgrew what they're able to manage alongside other pets in the home), he's in need of a new home where he can get the space, exercise, and companionship he craves. Scooby would do best with an active family who has room to let him run and time to give him the attention he's hungry for.

Story
If you are hoping to adopt an active boy, look no further than Chance! Chance thinks he is a lap dog but he is an amazing running companion. On walks, Chance greets all of our neighbors with enthusiasm and tail wags, shouts and murmurs of enthusiasm! He is house trained, a great sleeper through the night, and doesn't chew on furniture! He has been very calm, patient and loving with children as well! Chance would do well in a single-pet household that can give him lots of affection, exercise and a steady routine. He seems to be territorial about sharing his indoor space with other dogs, even though he is super friendly when out on walks. He has great endurance for walking and running. He is laughably terrible at playing fetch but still loves to run around and play. Chance is quick to learn and has picked up a new trick in just a few days with us! He would be a champ with a little obedience training. Chance is eager to please, loves praise, and is very treat motivated. He has big puppy energy and a big loving heart. We really hope he lands a home soon with a yard, perhaps a playmate.... Come meet Chance and fall in love! Please call 707-459-4900 to make an appointment.

Story
Note: Currently, Shous is in Korea, but will be arriving in San Francisco once adopted. For more info about the dog or adoption application, please click here.BackgroundShous was rescued in February 2024 from a dog meat farm in Anseong, Korea. At the time, he was just a puppy. Two of his brothers have already been adopted and are now living happily in Toronto. After his rescue, Shous spent some time at a training facility because our shelter did not have enough space for him. He has now returned to our partner boarding house, where he lives safely with other dogs while waiting for his own forever family. After waiting for so long, Shous is finally ready for his chance at a loving home of his own.Personality & SocializationShous is a friendly and affectionate dog who loves people. He has no hesitation around either men or women and is comfortable meeting new people. He also gets along well with other dogs. Shous especially enjoys playing with dogs who like to run, wrestle, and play with their whole bodies. He is happiest when he has a fun dog friend to share playtime with.Shous has a medium energy level. He enjoys walks and playtime but is not overly energetic. He is generally calm and easygoing in his kennel and does not show any signs of separation anxiety. He is usually quiet and settles well in his kennel.Shous does not bark much. He may let you know when he is hungry and ready for his meal, but otherwise, he is pretty chill and quiet.BehaviourShous is a well-mannered dog who handles everyday activities very well. He rides well in the car, behaves nicely at the vet, and does well during bath time. He also has experience with walks and loves going for walks and spending time outdoors. Shous enjoys being active but also knows how to settle down and relax. He enjoys playing with toys but does not show any destructive chewing habits. Shous currently prefers going potty outdoors and has developed a good routine.Health and DietShous has been neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and is up to date on his vaccinations. He takes monthly parasite prevention. He has no known allergies and eats dry food twice a day. He has completed a veterinary checkup including teeth scaling and is healthy and ready for her forever home.Ideal HomeShous would be a wonderful match for a family looking for a gentle, affectionate, and easygoing companion. A family with experience caring for a large dog would be ideal. He would also do best in a quiet residential environment where he can enjoy a peaceful lifestyle.A family who enjoys regular walks and outdoor activities with their dog would be a great match for Shous. He loves spending time outside and would be happy to have people who enjoy including him in their daily lives.Shous loves people, enjoys companionship, and has so much love to give. He has waited a long time for his chance at a real home, and now he is ready to leave his past behind and become someone’s beloved family member.
