I adopted Kyou from the Animal Welfare League in 2021. I have since become ill and need to relocate and he can not come with me. He is a very well trained dog. I believe he may have PTSD from his previous owner. There are a few things that make him cower. He is a docile dog and is a velcro dog for sure. He is about 11 years old and I believe he is Ridgeback and Lab with some type of hound mixed in there. He does not do well with thunder storms and fireworks. If you are not home when these things occur, he may have an accident in the home. He has lived with 2 little dogs this past 5 years, but has gone after the boy dog a few times. I would suggest he be the only dog as a precaution. He loves to play catch and go on walks. He loves sleeping in your bed, but does well on the couch if that's where you want him. He is very well mannered on a leash and obeys most commands. Even "back up" when taking him out and he hogs the door. I think he would be great for a single female/only dog.

He comes from the working -scenthound group and is very strong, so he’ll do best with either a big, fenced yard for exercise, or someone experienced to walk a strong, athletic dog on-leash. He loves his people and is extremely loyal. He’s been tested with some mild mannered dogs and did beautifully.

I made my way to Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue where they provided me the medical and general care I needed to be ready for a furever family.I am estimated at 2 yrs old and appear to be a Mountain Cur/ Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, but I'm definitely on the smaller and shorter side weighing in at about 45lbs so must be another adorable breed in my mix! I am quite energetic, but not in a crazy puppy way. I would love to find someone who is active so we could go do lots of outdoorsy stuff together.
