Theo is a great boy, just has a few issues that will require a stern adopter. He is friendly with dogs and people, but due to his nature, no small children. He has been through extensive training. He knows all obedience. www.playk9resuce.org The adoption fee for this pet covers the cost of care which may have been for several weeks or several months depending on the health and other needs. The fee also covers all vet bills during this time to ensure his/her health is improved or maintained and provides you with assurance that this dog has been well cared for while in our possession and evaluated to meet your home's needs. Included in this fee is also life- long training support provided by PLAY! K9 Academy located in Bradenton, FL as well as Life time microchip registration. When you adopt from a local shelter, you may not receive any medical history for this dog nor will you receive any behavioral history. We hope you understand that the minimal adoption fee we are asking is to continue our mission to rescue unwanted herding and working breeds from shelters/owners and get them adopted to their forever home.

We rehomed her from our neighbor who was going to surrender due to no fence yard and no time for her. I just had my husband pass and cannot handle the 3 dogs anymore it's just too much. She sleeps w me and is very loving. She gets along w my cats but does like to chase them in yard sometimes. She doesn't like car rides gets very nervous / panting. She is up to date on all shots just went to vet last week. Currently on Nexgard plus monthly. We have fenced yard w doggie door so never has accidents in the house. She is only 2

Story
I adopted Kyou from the Animal Welfare League in 2021. I have since become ill and need to relocate and he can not come with me. He is a very well trained dog. I believe he may have PTSD from his previous owner. There are a few things that make him cower. He is a docile dog and is a velcro dog for sure. He is about 11 years old and I believe he is Ridgeback and Lab with some type of hound mixed in there. He does not do well with thunder storms and fireworks. If you are not home when these things occur, he may have an accident in the home. He has lived with 2 little dogs this past 5 years, but has gone after the boy dog a few times. I would suggest he be the only dog as a precaution. He loves to play catch and go on walks. He loves sleeping in your bed, but does well on the couch if that's where you want him. He is very well mannered on a leash and obeys most commands. Even "back up" when taking him out and he hogs the door. I think he would be great for a single female/only dog.

Story
Flynn is about 8 years old. He is a cancer survivor. He had a large tumor removed from his skin near his hip. He is smart. He lives to play fetch, especially in the water. He loves to swim. He will come both his favorite toys. Unfortunately, Flynn hates the vet. We can no longer keep him because he has bitten people, including me. He appears to have an area on his back that is a trigger for bites. I was brushing him and must have hit a painful spot when he bit me. He has loved with other dogs with no issues. He is a vigilant alarm. With the opportunity to run and roam, he has a few good years left. I am sad to give him up. It is best for us both.

Story
Simon is a sweet, lovable, very intelligent dog, unfortunately he does not get along with our other, older, male dog, but does with our older female dog. We have tried training, keeping them separated, and that worked for awhile. Recently though, even while in his crate, he has tried to go after our other dog. We do not want to charge a fee, we just want him to go to a good home.
