Story
Meet a sweet, loving girl searching for her forever home. She adores people, especially kids, and would do best with children 7 and older since she gets excited and may jump up to say hello. She may bark at strangers at first, but quickly warms up and rolls over for belly rubs. Phoenix loves exploring, sniffing, and spending time outdoors. A home with room to roam would be ideal, though she’s also happy with regular walks and adventures. She’s athletic and can jump a standard chain-link fence, so a secure yard is important. She has lived peacefully with a small Chihuahua mix and was best friends with a neighbor’s senior dog. However, she has had conflicts with our Beagle, so we believe she would be happiest as the only dog in the home. She is a very sweet companion with so much love to give. We want nothing more than to find her a home where she will be cherished, cared for, and loved for the rest of her life.

Story
STAR is a foster-based rescue. All our rescue animals stay in foster homes until adoption. We do not have a central facility. If you want to meet any of our adoptables please submit an application.  Hi! I was born 3/2/26 and I’m one of a litter of 11 puppies! Our sweet momma took such good care of us. We are guessed to be a mix of Pit Bull and Catahoula Leopard Dog, which explains all of our fun colors and unique patterns! I’m currently looking for my forever home and my foster mom says I’m extra special because she thinks I may be deaf. But she also says that doesn’t make me any less amazing — it just means I experience the world a little differently, and someone out there is still going to love me exactly as I am. I’m a very happy, playful girl who loves everyone I meet! I get along great with cats, kids, and other dogs. I’m outgoing, confident, and full of personality — honestly, you probably wouldn’t even know there’s anything different about me! My adoption fee includes: • Age-appropriate vetting and vaccines • Flea/tick/heartworm prevention • Dewormings since 2 weeks old • Starter food • Collar & leash • Treats and a toy If you have questions about me, please email heather@savingtailsanimalrescue.org All STAR animals come vetted, Up to Date (UTD) on age appropriate shots and testing, spay and neutered (if of age,) and microchipped. AGE DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, most of the orphaned animals that come into our rescue looking for homes don’t bring birth certificates. Sometimes we know our pets’ ages. Sometimes we don’t. So we make our best guess based on the condition of their teeth and the veterinarians best guess.   BREED DISCLAIMER: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label . Microchips: For the safety of our dogs and peace of mind of our fosters and adopters, STAR microchips all dogs prior to adoption with Petlink Microchips. Please understand that all dogs MUST still wear a collar with ID tags (which include your current information) AT ALL TIMES. Please remember, our foster dogs are extremely important to us-- we will always take any of our dogs back, if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. Never surrender him/her to a shelter!
