Story
It saddens us to have to rehome Rue. Rue lives in West Linn. She is approx. 19 months old. We rescued Rue a 9 months ago(she was abandoned in a parking lot) and our other dog of 7 years will not accept her. Rue's shots are all current and she is spade. She has a loving personality and loves to cuddle. We have boarded her several times and she got along with the other dogs there. She is a mixed breed mostly Rhodesian Ridgeback and weighs 54 pounds. She is crate trained. She is very active. Rue has not been around kids much. We feel she would do best in a home where she is the only dog where she would get all the love and attention she deserves.

Story
Oh my good golly gracious how I loved getting to know Nelson!!!! Nelson is that dog—the one who steals your heart before you even sit down. During our visit, his favorite place to be was cozied up on the couch, curled against us in a tangle of kisses and tail wags. He’s a tall drink of water with the soul of a teddy bear, and he knows exactly how to win you over with his affectionate nature and striking good looks. We believe Nelson is a hound mix and is about 2 years old. Due to him being a rescue, age and breed cannot be guaranteed, but he makes up for the uncertainty of his genetics with his looks and charm. Check out this stud muffin below! https://youtu.be/FLOR-YY53Os Nelson currently does not live with any kiddos, but his foster told us that this gentle guy has been around newborns and little ones and was nothing but calm and kind. If you have a specific age group of kids Nelson would be around, let us know and we would be happy to see how he interacts with them! We want to make sure he is perfect for you! Based on what his foster said and his affection towards me during his visit, we believe he’d make a wonderful family dog for a home with respectful young children who can handle the occasional enthusiastic smooch, or older kids who’d love to toss a ball around the yard with him. Nelson is quite the curious fellow, especially when it comes to cats. He’s a little too intrigued for their liking, so a cat-free home will be the best match for him. As for canine companions, he lives with multiple foster doggy siblings! He would do great with a low to medium energy friend! He definitely is down to play but is equally okay being a devoted solo companion to his human friends! A natural glider with a love for movement, Nelson really shines when he has space to roam and run. I LOVED watching him effortlessly dart down from one edge of the yard to the other. Because of that, he’d do best in a home with a yard rather than an apartment. His athleticism mixed with his affectionate heart makes him the perfect companion for someone who loves to snuggle after a good romp outdoors. Are you looking for a friend to travel with? Nelson does great in the car! His foster had nothing but good things to say about his car riding skills! So get that hiking trip planned now! Nelson is ready! Out of all the dogs I’ve met, Nelson left a lasting impression! I will forever love that boy. He’s loyal, tender, and full of goofy charm. If you're looking for a best friend to fill your home with fun, this distinguished gentleman might just be your guy. Has Nelson claimed your heart? Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission! Story
Annie is very energetic dog and loves to be outside and go on walks. She is very social and loves a good cuddle. I cannot provide the lifestyle she needs with how busy I’ve become. She is a quick learner and has some training background and if you take the time to train her for 30 minutes a day she’s the best dog you can ask for.
