Story
Lacey is a pretty young, 2 year old, 50 pound Rhodesian Ridgeback mix girl that lived the first years of life on a chain outside in a man’s backyard.  She has had a few litters of pups and PREFERS to be the only queen of the house.  Being always chained, many dogs have a defensive attitude of being jumped on and often prefer to be the only pet in the home.  She is very sweet and loving and adores meeting new people and making friends.  She loves men especially and is gentle with children.  She is so very calm and easy going around the house.  She is not a fan of the crate because it is new to her.   She was never crated until now.  She doesn’t seem to be destructive at all in the house.  She loves sleeping on the bed at night and will sleep right next to you.  She has been in HEAVEN because she has never had the inside comforts of a home.  This smart girl can be taught so many things.  Please consider giving her a comfy and loving home and the life she deserves.  She is ready now!  She is housebroken and loves car rides and can travel to a new home anywhere.  If you want a well rounded and easy dog, you really need to pick Lacey!!!   Email Critter Cavalry Rescue and ask for an application to adopt.   Email:  ccrtennessee@gmail.com  She is ready to pack her bags and head fast as lightning to a new dog bed and people who will treat her like a Queen. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.June 15, 2024, 3:33 pm

Story
Meet Rambo! Rambo came to Eleventh Hour when the kids in his previous home became allergic. Despite his tough-guy name, Rambo is a marshmallow at heart! He's all about playtime, snuggles, and zero personal space boundaries. At just over a year old and 68 pounds, this pup is on a quest to find his paw-fect forever home. He is crate trained and house trained. He is good with kids, and even has experience living with a squad aged 5 to 12. Rambo loves to play with toys of all kinds and is treat motivated. Rambo loves to be with his people, cuddle, and get belly rubs. Rambo is a social butterfly who's cool with the neighborhood pooches and might just fancy a furry friend. He would do great in a home with a fenced in yard to zoom around in so he can show you his top-notch fetch skills. Walks and lounging on the deck outside are among his favorite hobbies, too! He has mastered the commands, “sit,” “lay down,” and “shake,” though he's still learning the no-jumping-up trick and leash manners. One of the funniest things about Rambo is he loves the vacuum cleaner. His foster mom was vacuuming the couch and Rambo insisted on being vacuumed too! Rambo is an all-around dog extraordinaire and would make a perfect addition to an active family! Fill out an application at www.ehrdogs.org and ask for this vacuum-loving charmer by name - RAMBO NJ! Story
Meet Reeko - read what his foster mom has to say about him.  Reeko came from a Logan's Heroes shelter partner in Alabama. He was adopted last summer and is now back, to no fault of his own. His estimated date of birth is November 11th, 2022. Reeko appears to be a Rhodesian Ridgeback with possibly some border collie and boxer. He has a pretty cool "ridge" on his neck and part of his head. He is about 55 pounds, and at this point, is full-grown. Reeko is an energetic and intelligent dog who would do best with an active person or family who is willing to exercise him mentally and physically. He loves hikes and would make an amazing adventure partner. Reeko currently has a fenced-in yard at his foster home, but he was trained with an invisible fence. He will need either a fenced yard or an invisible fence as he is very used to being able to run in and out as he pleases, get some energy out, and use the bathroom off leash. Reeko is crate-trained, leash-trained, and house-broken. His crate is his safe area and he has no problems with sleeping in it overnight. He is crated when left alone but he does not show any signs of being destructive and does not have issues with separation anxiety. He is very well-behaved in the home and eager to please. He knows a variety of tricks and would make a great dog for someone looking to enroll in various dog sports and activities. Unfortunately, Reeko was not very well socialized with strangers for the majority of his life, so he can be anxious around new people, but will warm up with time and patience. He barks at strangers and is very on edge. New people interactions need to be very slow in order to allow him to process. Reeko does not tend to bark at people in public areas. He focuses on his foster mom and does not react to outside stimuli. We do not allow strangers to pet or approach Reeko in public to make sure that he feels safe and confident in his surroundings. At home, Reeko has the tendency to try to herd unwanted guests out of his space. He is working on correcting that in his foster home and is responding well. Reeko has shown some resource guarding tendencies with objects he finds high value. He is very hit or miss with this, does not happen often, but he occasionally will growl if he claims something as his. He will respond to a correction and has never gone further than a growl. He has been tossed around so much in his short life that he is very confused about what is right and wrong. As he grows comfortable in his foster home, and with some help from a professional trainer, this bad habit seems to have improved. Any potential adopter will need to be aware that Reeko will likely need more follow-up training in his new home in order to adjust properly. Reeko is somewhat selective over new dogs in his life. He tends to prefer male dogs smaller than him or any female dog but does seem to warm up to any dog after a proper introduction. He is very playful with energetic dogs but will respect an older dog that is not interested in playing. Reeko has not been around cats in the home. He is exposed to an outdoor cat at his foster home but he does not pay him any attention. No small children for Reeko, dog savvy kids 12 and up is a requirement for him. Because of the likelihood of past trauma and his breed characteristics, he would thrive with an experienced dog owner and would not be a good fit for a first-time dog family. Rhodesian ridgeback experience is a big plus. Once comfortable, Reeko is very affectionate and absolutely adores belly rubs, snuggling, and has a very playful, goofy personality. He has so much love to give and will be an amazing, loyal companion for someone who is willing to work with him. Reeko is neutered, up to date with vaccines and microchipped. His adoption fee is $50.00. If you are interested in adopting Reeko, please visit our website www.LHARinc.org go to Adopt and complete the dog adoption application.
