Story
My story is one that started with a shelter number and a death sentence that loomed very close in Eastern Tennessee. My former name was AC23390, but by the hand of God, I was taken from that shelter and now I am Neeka.  In August 2022 I was found by animal control and brought to their tiny sad facility. I weighed only 50 pounds (picture is included).  They posted my picture hoping my owners would come forward and take me home but no one showed up and it was for the best.  I was starved already and they obviously didn’t take good care of me. Things were looking grim but on my last day, an older couple came to see me and they took me home.  They treated me like a Princess and I gained weight and felt their love.  I was so grateful and soon my energetic nature started to emerge and my true breed tendencies demanded that they play with me and help me exercise and get my inner energy out.  But they are really too old and too tired to play with me and they think I need a “younger” couple and family to give me the life that I need.  I have learned to live with cats and I have stopped chasing them for sport since they slapped me in the face a few times.  I just got bored and wanted some fun!   What I really need is someone to give me structure and boundaries and to work with me on being content to be crated when people leave and to have someone that is my pack leader and guide.  I need the reassurance that I have a strong owner who knows exactly what I need every day.  I would love to go for long walks, hikes, jogs or anything active and fun.  A fenced yard is needed and I need patience to be imperfect and to help me become more perfect.  I need to work with meeting dogs and not being intimidated by them.   No one has really gotten me out and about in life and I have the intelligence and desire to really learn how to be OK in this crazy world.  I promise to love you, to adore you and to obediently be your best friend and to learn.  I am now 65 pounds and not starving for food, but I am starving for love and guidance.  Can you help me with that?  Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested learning more. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 10, 2023, 12:25 am

Story
Reeko came to us from a shelter partner in Alabama. We estimate his date of birth to be around November 2022. Reeko grew up in the shelter and was not very well socialized with strangers when he came to us. He does appear to be is a  ridgeback, hound and Shepard mix. Reeko is working on his socialization with newcomers and we have had a behaviorist see him. This is what he says about Reeko and his progress. Reeko would thrive in a home with or without other dogs. He is a loving, human centric and energetic dog who would need plenty of exercise and enrichment activities like “find it” and yard games. He does have some fear around strangers, so a proper introduction with a coached handler is preferred initially. He’d be fine in home with children as long as the adults have had a session with a behavior specialist. He would not be a good fit for a first time dog family/person. When he is with his foster family he is very friendly, loves tummy rubs, and has a playful personality. He does really well with other dogs big and small. Reeko is crate-trained, leash-trained, and is almost house-trained. Reeko uses a crate as his safe area. He does not bark or whine in his crate unless he needs to go to the bathroom. Very well-behaved in and out of crate!  He is a super sweet guy look for a patient, dog savvy home to give him a chance. He is super dedicated and loving to his people once he knows you. Reeko did fracture his leg when he first arrived when he was out side on a leash which has now healed. Reeko is neutered, up to date with vaccines for his age and microchipped. His adoption fee is $150.00. If you are interested in adopting Reeko, please visit our website www.LHARinc.org go to Adopt and complete the dog adoption application.  ##1665452##

Story
Meet Ellie, a 2-year-old mix of Rhodesian Ridgeback and Hound! She has reached her mature weight of 45 pounds. She wears a short, brown and red coat that is nice to stroke! Ellie was found wandering the streets and was picked up by a nice woman who brought her to us. Ellie loves to play with people (including kids) and other dogs! She enjoys going on walks and getting belly rubs! And did we mention how much she loves running around in the yard? Ellie would make a great adventure buddy! (ME, 1/17/23) **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $375 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.  June 10, 2023, 5:52 pm

Story
Quinn (Quincy's sister) is a 1 year old, 40 pound mix of Rhodesian Ridgeback and Beagle, a beautiful combination.  If you look closely, you can see the ridge on her back which is formed by a line of her hair going in the opposite direction from the rest of the coat.  The Beagle in her is very easy to spot in that she has the looks and markings.  Her colors of light tan and white are light and soft. This girl is truly beautiful!   Although she gets along well with other dogs, she prefers not being around cats who she says, stick out their tongues at her.  We aren't sure about kids.  She likes other dogs because they run and play with her.  What a delightful girl this is!  (posted 2/11/23, ME) **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $375 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . Story
Kambria is a rambunctious almost 1 year old female, mixed breed (she appears to have Rhodesian Ridgeback traits) dog. Kambria is a smaller dog, with super puppy energy! She needs lots of room to run and play. Kambria is still working on not jumping on people, and learning to walk on a leash. She will need someone who is calm and patient with her while she is still learning. She is good with other dogs! She may still be a little too boisterous for smaller children, so she would do better with kids who are older (5+). She will excel in an active home with other dogs. Kambria is heartworm negative, and will be up to date on vaccinations, spayed and microchipped. Kambria needs a family that will teach her the good life and give her all the wonderful things a dog deserves! We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.
