Story
Mae Mae Mae Mae is approximately a 4 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback and is absolutely beautiful and reminds you of a small deer. Mae Mae is as sweet as can be. If you are looking for a low maintenance, couch loving, tv watching, sometimes plays with toys dog, then she is your go to girl. Mae Mae was found in an abandoned building with a severely broken leg which had to be amputated. She is still a resilient girl after all that she has been through. Mae Mae spends her days being lazy on the couch and looking out the window to be apart of the neighborhood watch. Mae Mae is housebroken; she also uses the doggy door in her foster home. Mae Mae knows some commands and if you tell her to go to her crate, she will go in without repetitive asking. Mae Mae sometimes plays with toys and/or chews on bones. Mae Mae loves to be around her people. Mae Mae does not let having three legs dampen her spirit at all. Mae Mae loved playing in the snow we had, will run around the backyard, jump on the bed and sprawl out and roll around when she is happy. Mae Mae is now ready to find her furever home. Mae Mae is currently fostered with other dogs. Mae Mae will need someone who is a leader and will keep that leadership role in the home. Of course with any dog, the decompression stage is very important, as well as slow introductions and understanding. Story
Penny is a gorgeous Rhodesian ridgeback mix that weighs approximately 50 lbs and is the sweetest girl! She is approximately 1 year and 3 months old and was found in January of 2026 in a cemetery with about 12+ other dogs. She was fending for herself, finding food, water and shelter where and when she could. This awesome girl absolutely loves other dogs; big and small. She is currently being fostered in a sanctuary in south Texas, along the Texas/Mexico border. This amazing sanctuary is only a short term stop for this baby until their forever home is found. They are the ones who originally found her and got her to safety, before reaching out to us to help in placing their animals in the homes they deserve. She can be a little shy right at first, but it doesn’t take her long to warm up and become your loyal, best friend. Penny is very active and loves to romp around the yard and play with the other doggies. The happiest she is, is when she is with other dogs and they have toys to play tug-o-war with. We strongly recommend another dog or dogs in the home, or consistent doggy friends/doggy parks/doggy day-care that she can go to. Where Penny currently is, has pigs and she enjoys playing with them too! While she does love to play, she is very gentle when she does. She is not overly rough. She is a bit of an escape artist as she just enjoys being out and about. Penny is MOSTLY house trained, just needs consistency to master is 100% Penny loves car rides and walks okay on a leash, will need a bit more work on the leash to become perfect. She has great recall once she is familiar with the area. We learned she is an escape artist as she climbed a 4-foot fence and got out. But all she did was explore a little bit and then go to the front door of the home and wait to be let in. She is such a good girl! An ideal home for Penny would be one that is: Active, wants a dog that loves to go on adventures Wants a best friend, a dog that will be your shadow Has another active dog to play with and tire each other out The fosters favourite thing about Penny: That even after she was dumped and left to starve to death in the middle of nowhere, she still trusts people and is the sweetest, most loving baby. This animal is fixed (spayed/neutered), heart worm positive (they have received the 30-day course of antibiotics and need to stay on heart worm prevention for 12-16 months and be retested then), current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on de-wormer, and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport. PLEASE READ BELOW: To apply to adopt you can go to our website at: www.pawsitive-Impact-animal-rescue.org This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals out in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily. Story
Sinbad is a handsome, approximately 9-year-old mix of Rhodesian Ridgeback and Mountain Cur, weighing about 75 pounds Sinbad has spent his entire life on a horse farm surrounded by animals and family. He has lived with horses, cats, chickens, and another dog with whom he gets along well. He’s comfortable around horses, although he does enjoy trying to chase the chickens and cats if given the opportunity.   Sinbad loves being outside. Playing fetch and Frisbee are some of his favorite activities, and he always enjoys going for walks. As he’s gotten older, he’s become even more affectionate. A true definition of a lap dog, he loves hard. He absolutely loves attention from his people and will happily roll onto his back for belly rubs and cuddles. He especially enjoys relaxing in bed with the adults in the house and simply being close to his family.   Sinbad has grown up with four children and, for many years, showed incredible patience as they played with him, hugged him, and climbed all over him. As he’s entered his senior years, however, he prefers a quieter lifestyle and has less tolerance for the constant activity that comes with a busy household of young children.   One thing that’s important to know about Sinbad is that he has always displayed some resource-guarding tendencies with high-value items like his balls, toys, and bones. Once he’s finished playing fetch and takes his ball to settle down, he prefers to be left alone with it. Because of this, he would do best with owners who understand canine body language and are willing to simply give him his space when he has something he considers valuable.   His present family has grown over the years, and with children now ages 2, 4, 9, and 11, his home has become much busier than it was when Sinbad was younger. While he still craves attention and affection, he no longer enjoys the constant hustle and bustle. Now,  he deserves a quieter home where he can be the center of someone’s world again.   Sinbad would thrive in an adult-only home or one with older, dog-savvy children who understand and respect his boundaries. He would make a wonderful companion for a single person, couple, or retired family looking for a loyal, loving dog to share their days with. He has so much love to give and simply wants a peaceful home where he can enjoy walks, snuggles, belly rubs, and all the attention he deserves.   (posted 4/5/26, RH)  Adoption Fee:  $100.00  July 8, 2026, 10:55 pm
