Tyke came to Bonaparte's because he had a terrible injury in his hind leg where he was shot and needed an amputation. The leg was fractured but there were also bullet fragments trying to push themselves out. Tyke has since had the amputation and healed beautifully and we have discovered what a love this guy is...truly the perfection definition of a gentle giant. He is great with cats, good with little dogs, good with kids and all people. He does seem to have a bit of separation anxiety which can cause him to sometimes have an accident in the house but we are working on it and paper towels are his fave when his foster is gone so those would need to be out of reach-but really with how just perfect this guy is that is an easy fix in a home! Found as a stray and never reclaimed, Ben is now safe and hoping to find a forever home where he can feel secure and loved.Since we don’t know much about his past, we’re unsure how Ben does with other animals, kids, or if he's house or crate trained. What we do know is that he can be a little cautious at first — but once he warms up, he's incredibly sweet and loyal. He just needs a little patience and understanding to let his true personality shine.Ben is healthy, full of potential, and ready to be adopted today!If you're willing to give a shy but loving dog a chance to bloom, Ben could be your perfect companion. Come meet this handsome boy and see the gentle soul behind those watchful eyes. 🐶🧡Ben's Adoption Fee is $115.50 plus taxDogs are $115 and puppies are $110 unless otherwise noted. All cats and kittens are $75.00 unless otherwise noted. Our system automatically updates adoptable websites every two hours. Feel free to email or call us with any questions you may have. Our contact number is 270-887-4175. The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30-4 and is closed daily for lunch from 12:30-1.
