Story
Tyke came to Bonaparte's because he had a terrible injury in his hind leg where he was shot and needed an amputation. The leg was fractured but there were also bullet fragments trying to push themselves out. Tyke has since had the amputation and healed beautifully and we have discovered what a love this guy is...truly the perfection definition of a gentle giant. He is great with cats, good with little dogs, good with kids and most people. There is a certain type of male that can trigger his anxiety so we are working on figuring out that that type is. He also does seem to have a bit of separation anxiety which can cause him to sometimes have an accident in the house but we are working on it and paper towels are his fave when his foster is gone so those would need to be out of reach-but really with how just perfect this guy is that is an easy fix in a home! Other than that he is house broken and just truly perfection! He is a strong guy on leash so be prepared for his excitement to pull you along! His fosters are also working on that!January 7, 2026, 4:33 pm

Story
We found our sweet honey girl about a year ago on the side of the road a month before I gave birth to my new son. Unfortunately he is extremely allergic to dog dander and it is just not fair for him or her to keep her confined to certain areas of the house. She would make a great companion dog. Super gentle and kind with kids and other animals.

Story
We rescued him at 8 months old. He was mistreated by previous owner so he flinches occasionally. He knows how to sit and stay. He’s crate trained and potty trained. He’s super loving and tries to be a lap dog. Very sweet and funny. He’s amazing with people he just tries to be too dominant with other animals especially our other dog. He loves to play but he will also lay on the couch cuddled for hours with you. Looking for a very loving happy home with no cats or dogs. Preferably has a back yard because he loves to play outside. He hasn’t been around kids much. He is an amazing dog for a single pet household.

Story
Marley has spent almost two years waiting for something most dogs are given without question — a home. Born around February, 2023, this strikingly handsome Catahoula mix boy has grown up in a shelter, watching the world move past him while he stays behind in a kennel run. It’s hard to understand how a dog so joyful, so loving, and so eager to connect has been overlooked for so long.  Maybe it's because he isn't in a big city where people frequent the local shelter looking a dog to love.  Marley is in a very rural ,out of the way shelter that few people come to. Marley is the kind of dog who lights up when someone notices him. He is friendly, social, and genuinely happy just to be included. He gets along well with other dogs and older children, and his favorite thing in the world is simply being part of the moment — whether that means splashing in water, running around outside, or settling in as your loyal couch companion. Time has softened Marley in the best ways. While he still has a playful spirit, he’s matured into a wonderfully balanced dog who knows how to enjoy both adventure and quiet companionship. He leans into affection, seeks out closeness, and gives love freely — the kind of love that feels steady, sincere, and deeply comforting. What Marley is missing isn’t training or potential — it’s belonging. He deserves a family who sees him not as another face in a kennel, but as a best friend waiting patiently for his turn. A home where he can stretch his legs, rest his head on your lap, and finally understand that he’s safe and chosen. Marley is sweet. He is beautiful. He is ready. He has already waited long enough. He deserves more than a kennel. He deserves mornings in a home, evenings with his head in your lap, and a life where he's finally chosen. If you're looking for a dog who will meet you with joy, loyalty, and an open heart every single day... Marley Is still at the shelter, still hoping, and still ready to go home. Even if all you can do is foster him while Critter Cavalry searches for a home, please consider the option to free him. All he needs is someone to look at him and say, you’re coming home with me. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Please consider Marley and changing his life from a kennel run to a soft dog bed laying at your feet. Don't hesitate to contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.January 26, 2026, 6:33 pm
