Story
PLEASE READ ABOUT PAXTON We are searching for a family for Paxton who can foster him until he's ready to be adopted. Paxton will need a family who has some dog experience and who can handle a big, strong boy. He's very well-behaved and loving and snuggly. His only vice is the leash. He likely had some traumatic experience before he came to us and he's not a huge fan of having a leash on or having it taken off. He's been staying with one of our training teams, and they've made huge progress with him. He has come so far, but he'll need someone who can continue working with him. Without the leash, Paxton is a big ol' goofball. He loves belly rubs and is such a sweetheart. He enjoys playing with toys, and he's a huge fan of snacks. Paxton is a handsome boy and just wants to be your best friend. We would like to find a family who would like to foster Paxton while he finishes up his training and care. He will be able to be formally adopted once he's finished everything ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://iamdogrescue.org/adoption-application/ ***IMPORTANT- PLEASE READ*** Our adoption fee is $175. We require an application to be completed prior to setting up a meet-and-greet. We do not offer "on-the-spot" adoptions. We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. We do our best to match dogs with families that will be a good fit to help ensure a successful adoption. We reserve the right to decline any application for any reason. Due to the nature of our adoption process, our fosters are usually only able to consider forever families within a reasonable driving distance of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. A vet reference is required, and a trial period will be completed before finalizing the adoption. Thank you for your understanding.

Story
Hi! My name is Scout, and I’m a 1-year-old, 50-lb female Black Mouth Cur mix. The rescue likes to say I’m a perfect Heinz 57, and honestly, that feels just right! I’m being fostered through Ruff Road Revival. I’m a joyful, playful, and energetic girl who thrives in an active home with a fenced yard and lots of opportunities to move, learn, and explore. I absolutely love to play—whether it’s with toys or other dogs—and I’d be over the moon to have a fun-loving canine companion to share adventures with. I have a confident, spirited personality and naturally enjoy taking the lead, which makes me a great match for a dog who appreciates my enthusiasm and charm.I’m fully potty trained and crate trained, so I already have a great foundation. I’m a smart, eager learner who knows several commands, including sit, shake, down, lay down, and crate—and I’m excited to keep learning more with my future family. I have a big love for my toys and bones and truly enjoy playtime and enrichment—it’s one of the ways I show my happy, playful nature. My foster family has helped me learn great habits and would be happy to share what’s worked so well for me.Overall, I’m a friendly, high-energy, affectionate pup with a zest for life. I would make an incredible adventure buddy and a deeply loyal companion for an active household ready to have fun, stay engaged, and build a strong bond with a wonderful young dog like me.While I’ve been with my foster dad for over A YEAR now, I’d love nothing more than to land in my forever home. If you have lots of land, I will be the happiest girl ever.Apply to adopt me! ##2620235##

She was found as a stray with injuries to her legs and feet, but thanks to a wonderful foster family, she healed both physically and emotionally. During her time in foster care, she proved to be incredibly affectionate—she loves people, enjoys snuggles, and plays wonderfully with children. Now living at our facility, Summer continues to work on her manners. She’s doing great with her leash training, is learning not to jump when excited, and already knows commands like `sit` and `no.` She’s eager to please and very smart, which makes her a great candidate for continued training in a patient and loving home.Summer loves doing zoomies in the yard and spending time outdoors. She’s made some doggy friends here with slow, proper introductions, and would thrive in a home that can continue supporting her socialization. This sweet girl is ready to leave her past behind and start a new chapter with a family who will give her the love, structure, and security she deserves. Could Summer be the sunshine your home is missing?Summer was born July 2021Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up-to-date on heart-worm and flea/tick preventative, heart-worm test which includes tick disease testing (if over 6 months), 24petwatch microchip with registration, fecal analysis and health check before adoption, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided which will cover the cost. Story
Sweet, handsome, fun-loving Blake is 2 years old and weighs 50 lbs. We think he is a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Black Mouth Cur mix. He is affectionate and loves to give kisses and cuddle with his people. He is friendly with every person he meets, but he can be a little picky about his dog friends. Blake is an excellent choice for someone wanting an only dog, but we think he would be ok in a home with smaller dogs. He loves to play fetch, and any old ball will do, but he hasn't quite mastered the part of bringing the ball back! Blake is very athletic and needs his daily exercise. He loves taking long walks. He is crate and potty trained. He won't be a good fit for apartment life. Blake will be a super loyal and loving companion. To meet Blake, please submit your application, and an adoption counselor will contact you.
