Story
If you think you don’t need a new best friend and side kick, then you don’t know Jack!! Jack lived in a home for four and a half years before coming to the shelter. Here’s what his person had to say about him:“Jack is an amazing dog! Very smart. I am so sad to surrender him. He will make an amazing pet for a family that can give him the time he needs.”Jack has done well with kids as young as 10 and was housebroken in his former home. He’s sweet, friendly and comes with the glowing recommendation of his former family. Jack also spent about two months in a foster home. He was housebroken and crate- trained in that home, and his foster described him as a cuddly boy who has bursts of energy and loves his squeaky toys.Jack is also a volunteer favorite in the shelter- here’s what his friends have said:“Jack is an energetic, social guy! He’s eager for affection and always has a happy, wagging tail when he receives praise. I really enjoy walking him. He loves getting back massages and will happily stay by your side for lots of pets. He looks like a puppy but has some salt-and-pepper graying on his chin--so cute!”“Jack and I met for the first time and went on a walk yesterday. He was comfortable with me petting his head and neck and took treats gently from my hand. He is a calm, loose leash walker. I look forward to working with him again.”“Jack is a handsome, happy boy who I’ve gotten to know during his time in the shelter. He’s always eager to get out of his cramped kennel and explore a bit- would be a great buddy for a daily walk in the neighborhood or some light hiking. He has such great notes from his former people and fosters- someone will be so lucky to have this guy in their life!!”Jack would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit, or would be happy to be your one and only and have all of your attention to himself. If you can help Jack get back into a loving home ASAP, please ask to meet him today!!

Story
Zeus is a handsome, friendly senior gentleman who came to the shelter after he and his friend Zia were abandoned. Zeus is the more confident of the two, and Zia takes comfort from her friend. Here’s what one volunteer said:“These sweet seniors are a little bit shy but definitely warm up with kind and gentle interaction. Both are mellow, quiet, easy-going and well-behaved and are easy to leash up and walk. Zeus does not act his age and is playful, friendly, and a major show off! He is so proud of knowing how to sit and give paw, especially when treats are involved. He’s also a bit of a goof ball. Zia is a little nervous but tolerant- a gentle, tender-hearted gal who appreciates kindness. Slow and easy works for her and she will come to you for affection when she feels safe. Zeus is the confident one and Zia looks to him for guidance.”In addition to getting along well with Zia, Zeus has been tolerant, easygoing, and a bit playful when meeting other dogs in playgroup. The shelter is truly no place for a senior dog, and Zeus really deserves a loving home with a family who would never leave him behind. Please ask to meet him today!!

Story
Bear is a handsome, sweet boy who can be shy at first but opens up to his trusted people quickly. He has a sweet gaze and a fluffy that wags oh-so-hard when he sees a friend! Bear was surrendered to the shelter from a home where there were too many animals, and he’s ready to find a family who will make sure he gets all the attention and care he deserves. Bear has come a long way in the time that he’s been at the shelter, and will absolutely thrive with a family who will help him continue to build confidence. Bear has shared his kennel politely and has been social and tolerant when meeting other dogs in playgroup. Ask to meet Bear today!!

Story
Rocky is the sweetest blockhead in town! This big, belly-rub-loving beefcake is very popular (pup-ular??) at the shelter and we know you’ll fall for him too! Here’s what a few of his friends have said about him:“Rocky is a super lovely boy. Easy to leash, friendly and seems exceptionally easygoing and well-adjusted. Loves pets, takes treats nicely, knows sit, and we’ve started working on down. Nice mellow and handsome dog!”“I took Rocky out for a meet and greet. He was easy to leash up and eager to get out of the kennel. During the meet and greet he was exceptionally sweet and calm, taking treats very well and resting his head on everyone in the yard. He enjoyed pets all over - overall a very good and easy boy.”“I had Rocky out for a walk today. He is a very slow and easy walker. Absolutely loves pets and takes treats very nicely. In typical Rottie fashion, he is a big love bug.”Rocky shares his kennel with a pal and has been tolerant and independent when meeting other dogs in playgroup. Ask to meet Rocky today!!

Story
Arabella is a sweet, shy little lady who will thrive in a loving home with a patient family who will help her feel safe and build confidence. Timid in her kennel, Arabella opens up quickly away from all of the noise and chaos of the shelter. Here’s what one volunteer had to say:“We took Arabella and her kennel mate to the yard today. Arabella was nervous for leashing; once in the yard though, she was much braver. She opened up pretty quickly, explored, and then solicited pets from both handlers. She loved cheese. She was very curious and wanted to check out every noise she heard. She is a very sweet girl and just needs a little time to feel comfortable.”Arabella shares her kennel politely and has been appropriate and independent when meeting other dogs in playgroup. Ask to meet Arabella today!
