Story
Meet Goober!Goober came to PACC originally as a bottle puppy without a mother, last year. He stayed in foster care until he was old enough for adoptions and then found a home! This sweet boy was unfortunately returned to PACC for being too puppy with his previous owners. He is a big boy and can get excited/jumpy and needs an adopter willing to work with that. His previous owners loved him and state `He is good with kids, would probably be better with kids older than 5. He gets excited but would never harm anyone. He is great with other dogs! We have another smaller older dog and he played well with that dog. He is a little timid and anxious but when you show him love all that goes away.He has allergies to chicken that causes rashes. He is good on a leash but does pull.He is a good dog and deserves a good home. `If interested in Goober, please email his foster parent fostermer19@yahoo.com

Story
Zeus is a handsome, friendly senior gentleman who came to the shelter after he and his friend Zia were abandoned. Zeus is the more confident of the two, and Zia takes comfort from her friend. Here’s what one volunteer said:“These sweet seniors are a little bit shy but definitely warm up with kind and gentle interaction. Both are mellow, quiet, easy-going and well-behaved and are easy to leash up and walk. Zeus does not act his age and is playful, friendly, and a major show off! He is so proud of knowing how to sit and give paw, especially when treats are involved. He’s also a bit of a goof ball. Zia is a little nervous but tolerant- a gentle, tender-hearted gal who appreciates kindness. Slow and easy works for her and she will come to you for affection when she feels safe. Zeus is the confident one and Zia looks to him for guidance.”In addition to getting along well with Zia, Zeus has been tolerant, easygoing, and a bit playful when meeting other dogs in playgroup. The shelter is truly no place for a senior dog, and Zeus really deserves a loving home with a family who would never leave him behind. Please ask to meet him today!!

Story
Where are the Rottie folks!? Krito is the most handsome big boy with a typical goofy Rottie personality. He’s good natured, confident, and ready to be your wingman for life! In his most recent home Krito was housebroken and crate trained and was well- behaved when left home alone. His people described him as playful, and he’s definitely an active boy who will thrive with mental and physical stimulation in his future home. Here’s what one volunteer said:“Krito is a cutie who is fully of energy. He’s food motivated and loves attention from people. He knows sit and watch me. Mainly he wanted to play during the walk!”Krito has been playful and social when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit. Ask to meet Krito today!

Story
PACC says Buddy was found near airport, but we have no idea where he came from. Jan 23, 2023 pick up date. Buddy has been through a lot in the past few months, but I’m happy to report that he`s doing well now. It’s difficult to determine exactly what breed mix Buddy might be, but Boxer - Pitbull or Boxer - Staffordshire Terrier are both possibilities. The healing nose wound; scars on his neck and ears could indicate a rough past, but it`s also possible that they were from an accident.Since he was so sick and lethargic when we received him, I’m not 100% sure on his attitude – he’s changed a lot since he’s been here. PACC vet did find an old glob of material and hair when they resected his colon. It seems he may have eaten some glass while out on the street. With no previous history, it’s tough to say what he experienced. His surgery was around Feb 10. I think he just finished healing up around April 1.Buddy was house trained when we received him and very well-behaved around guests including a free range toddler, teens, and men and women of various ages. I feel guilty leaving him when I have to go into work, but dogs are resilient and can adapt to being alone for periods of time as long as they have food, water, and a safe space to rest. His teeth were full of gunk so I’ve made a habit of brushing his teeth daily so the odor and cleanliness have improved. He allows me to mess with his teeth, and mouth. I’m happy to report that his fur has substantially improved since we first got him, which I think is a sign of good health. Any diet change has resulted in diarrhea and he vomited a few times when we first got him (likely due to food changes and obstruction in colon.) I slowly got him on a chicken kibble from Costco. WARNING: His farts are silent but violent. He usually eats at 7am and 5pm. He often goes to bed on his own at 8pm and naps alot throughout the day. With snacks at 10 am and 3pm. After his colon surgery I even fed him a little meal at noon. As for his behavior around other dogs, it`s not uncommon for dogs to become more reactive on a leash, especially when they`re around other dogs. I think we need to continue to train him to walk on a loose leash and to stay calm around other dogs. He doesn’t have terrible leash manners and socialization skills, but he’s changed a lot since his colon resection. So I’m not sure WHO the real Buddy Mc. But But is. I’m not sure if he’d be nice to cats since he was persnickety with

Story
Layla is the sweetest girl with some special needs. She has diabetes and requires an insulin injection twice a day. She is also blind, but she doesn`t let that stop her. Once she is used to her surroundings she navigates pretty well. She does well crating at night or when we have to leave her at home. She eats really well and drinks a lot. She will let you know when she has go out by standing by the door or crying if she`s in her kennel. She loves belly rubs and gets along with big and small dogs, cats, and kids. She is pretty chill and loves to sleep on her bed or lay in the sun on a cool morning. Her tail is always wagging.
