Story
This majestic boy is Lincoln. He’s an awesome guy with a big personality. He loves to ride in the car, run and play outside, and afterwards, curl up at your feet for a nap. He’s a very smart boy and he’s food driven so he learns things pretty easily and pretty quickly. Lincoln is 6 years old, he was born March 7, 2020. He has been a wonderful companion for me, but unfortunately 3 of my kids have eczema and we are very confident that Lincoln is causing their flare ups. I would also like to mention that I checked the box that says he’s not good with kids, and that’s not completely accurate. He has been around small kids his entire life and he has never taken it too far, but he does seem a bit uncomfortable or on edge at times around the smaller kids. He has also given them warning growls to back off. My oldest two are 9 and 10. They spend time with him giving him treats and food and throwing a ball for him. Lincoln is my guy and this is very difficult for our family.

Ryder is a walking miracle. This 1-year-old Rottie mix came to us from a background of neglect, having survived a car accident in December with no veterinary care for his broken leg. You would think after all that pain, he’d be guarded—but Ryder is the exact opposite. He is a "super sweet" boy who greets everyone with a wagging tail and a heart full of forgiveness. Now that he is safe and finally receiving the medical attention he deserved, his true personality is shining. He’s a medium-to-large guy who is essentially a big lap dog. He’s looking for a home where he can finally relax, continue his healing journey, and be the center of someone's world.

I rescued Luna when she was 5 months old. She’s very active and LOVES to fetch! Super athletic. Very protective. Squirrels (any small animal) doesn’t have a chance. I have a cat and she doesn’t bother him but any stray she wants to “play”. Sometimes she doesn’t know her own strength or size. She’s an inside dog. Loves to cuddle. Sleeps at the foot of my bed or beside my bed. House trained. Does NOT chew or tear things up. I don’t have to crate her while I’m gone. She doesn’t do well in a crate. My other 2 dogs did very well but she did not. I had 3 Rottweilers from 5 months to 6yrs old! Because of divorce and finances and my work schedule I’ve been unable to take care of them they way they deserve. I’ve had to rehome all of my dogs and she’s my last baby. She’s home all day by herself-alone. I now live in a place she has no freedom to run around and play. Please help. She needs a loving home and companionship.

Like many dogs used for breeding, she hasn't had a wide range of experiences with new people or animals, so she can be shy and awkward when she first encounters a stranger. However, once she makes a friend, that friendship is forever-- Brandy is loyal, attentive, and affectionate with the people she loves and trusts. She's housebroken, is an easygoing loose-leash walker, and while she enjoys getting attention and treats, she is also independent and happy to relax on her own. Due to her age and background, Brandy is looking for a "unicorn adopter"-- an adult-only home, probably without other pets, and with adopters who understand that she needs time and space when being introduced to new people. While she has never shown aggression during her time at HES, she has shown that she has boundaries and sensitivities that we want her future family to respect. We are confident that her perfect match is out there, and we know that our special girl deserves to be pampered in her retirement years!
