Story
Hi there, I'm Dusse, and I am 2 years old! I am a sweet, sweet boy! I am a pretty playful and curious guy that loves to go on walks as much as I love to try and snuggle into your lap for a fat nap. I really enjoy playing with toys, especially ones that squeak and are durable enough for me to chew on for quite some time! I do take some time to warm up to new people, but when I realize we're friends, I am a big ball of love! I am a staff favorite around here, but that is supposed to be a secret between you and me... I would do well in a home with kids, and I am the type of loyal dog that will protect them with my life. I hope you'll come meet me today! Some quick facts about me: Not Cat Friendly Dog Selective Kid FriendlyLikely housetrainedSweet, playful boyWeight: 74 lbsIntake Date: 01/07/2024Reason: Could no longer afford / take care ofGive the shelter a call at (574) 267-3008 or email them at info@awlwarsaw.com if you have any questions about me! Story
Hi guys and gals, I'm Brutus and I am 5 years old! I am a sweet and fun dude that loves to just hang out with you! I am here at the shelter because I was an outdoor dog and was chained outside during that really cold weather in January, and my owners wanted to surrender me. Since I am used to being an outdoor dog, sometimes when you hand me really delicious treats, I will hold onto it and bury it, so I can save it for later! I would make a great protection dog outdoors since I have the thick coat for it, or I would love to try and be an indoor dog! Staff thinks I would adjust well to being inside since I am food motivated, which would make it easy for me to learn house manners! I am pretty good on the leash, and I take corrections nicely (sometimes I like to jump to greet you). I would make a great candidate for a household with children and other dogs so that is a bonus for me! I also like to try and play with the power washer, so I could be a dog that loves the water... We'll see!! Please come out to meet me today! Some quick facts about me: Not Cat FriendlyDog FriendlyKid FriendlyHandsome and friendly! Fetch is one of his absolute favorite pass times. He also is down for being a couch potato binge watching Netflix. Drogon has done well with all men and women he has met here at the shelter. He is sure to greet you everyday with the cutest wiggly butt. He loves head scratches, treats, toys, and all the praise and baby talk you give him. He has lived with a cat and another dog. He can however be protective of his food. Same Drogon! Same! The behavior team is requiring all kids in the home must be over 12. Also, all dogs in the home must come in and meet with him. Please come in and meet this sweet boy, and adopt him today!

Story
Hey there, humans! I’m Nohemi, the sweet and loving 3-month-old, female mixed breed (possibly a Miniature Pinscher mix) weighing in at a whopping 12lbs! My journey started off a bit ruff – I was found by myself as a stray when I was only 8 weeks old and ended up in a southern kill shelter, but thanks to some kind people, I've been given a second chance at happiness here in Fort Wayne, Indiana. And hey, if you're in Michigan, no worries – my foster Mom is willing to meet you in Coldwater!  Now, I am mostly blind in one eye due to an ulcer I had when I came into the shelter, but let me tell you, it doesn't slow me down one bit and I have no trouble navigating my surroundings. I zip around like the wind and tackle every adventure with gusto. I even walk great on a leash already! Sure, loud cars make me a tad nervous, but with a loving family by my side, I know I'll feel safe and secure. The only time I bark is when I am ready to go out and play. Speaking of which, I will require a FULLY FENCED YARD so I can run and play until my heart’s content.  I absolutely adore hanging out with other dogs – big, small, you name it! My foster siblings include Rotties, Pitties, a Terrier and a Chihuahua! I get along with all of them like peanut butter and jelly. I haven’t had the pleasure of making any feline friends yet, but my gentle nature suggests that we would get along just fine. And I love to give kisses to all the kids I meet. But watch out, I do still have those sharp little puppy teeth. I'm already a pro at sleeping through the night in my cozy crate (I never make a mess in it either!) and I’m starting to get the hang of potty training – I do need to go out about 5 minutes after I eat. And boy, am I a foodie! Show me a tasty treat, and I'll happily sit and give you my best puppy dog eyes. But, alas, I do like to jump when I get really excited. But who can blame me, I am still a puppy and new things are exciting!  I'm all set to join my new family – fully-vetted, microchipped and ready to spread love wherever I go. My adoption fee is $350. Questions? Shoot an email to projecthoperescue@gmail.com. Ready to take the plunge and make me a part of your pack? You can visit our website at www.projecthoperescue.org to fill out an adoption application. I can't wait to meet you and start our paw-some adventures together. Let's make some memories – furever!May 1, 2024, 9:44 pm
