You can also find a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10-day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fees are listed on our website and cover the cost of the spay/neuter, age-appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. Most dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers so there is often very little known about their history or current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee. Xena is a purebred Rottweiler born 2/26/22. She is full of energy and looking for a new home where she will get to run and play and get all the snuggles that she deserves. Unfortunately we are looking for a home because she does not get along with a dog that lives next door and accidentally bit our neighbor’s hand when she was trying to separate the dogs, so since then she has not been able to run around the yard as she should. Xena gets along with our Maltese Pomeranian so it’s unknown how she would be around other dogs. We also have a 1 year old and have been Leary about having the dog around her as xena loves to play yet doesn’t know her weight. Xena deserves so much more than we are able to give her so finding a new home is her best chance at living her best life.
